what is it to you
if i pave my own path

quite the silent kind
but look into my thoughts--
i've a chaotic mind.
these lips are shut
so you may not hear
what lies beyond
my skin austere
though you may peek
into my spirit
through words
that i write vivid.

Eat

Empty,
no hunger,
depression,
have to eat,
fill the emptiness,
throw up,
eat again,
throw up,
nothing fills,
only the pills.

Bulimia is still a widely misunderstood and serious condition, this is my contribution to raise awareness for it and other eating disorders.

them rats with wings
but i have had a chance
to observe them up close

they are very loving
mates and
parents and are
successful animals

any species that is
successful should be
observed

Take a soft tipped brush
Dip, and trace my nakedness;
Viscous dripping rainbow streams
Clothe me here within our dreams.
Swirl my curves
With satin pink,
Let your brush flutter and sink
lower, purples, red and blue,
I'm a canvas here for you.
Paint me scarlet, paint me gold,
Paint some words
italic, bold
Stop when you begin to weep
A masterpiece, for us to keep.

They think I'm weird for seeming so

The need

I can’t sleep,
I can’t drink,
got to see a man tonight,
shivers and shakes,
imaginary snakes,
walls closing in,
heads in a spin,
body in pain,
always the same,
I've got a need,
a powerful need.

I wrote this about a difficult time in my life many years ago, thankfully I recovered but I know for many the struggle continues.
