So many lines and laments
scribed in ink and feeling,
for the girl who is the ocean

but she is a swell and surge
too dauntless and wild,
for a lover whose bones crave the shore.

She craves the squalls and gusts,
and cast iron skies,
a worldly drift to sate the salt in her skin,
the deep pull of currents in her blood.

She is chaotic but not reckless,
she is fickle, but not feckless.
Love her boldly or not at all
her bones belong to the sea
but she will always return to the shore.
Wow thankyou for the kind words everyone. Feels really good to know people enjoy my words, and my first Sun too!

the rain

sometimes the rain falls a little bit harder
somedays it feels like april blues and
the rain falls a little bit harder on your umbrella
even if your window invites sunlight onto your face
and the newly birthed flowers tickle your feet as you walk past
and the grass curls softly in the wind you leave behind
and the birds chirp hello like a beautiful little chorus
and the day is new
sometimes the rain comes by and it falls a little bit harder
than it did yesterday,
so the flowers are subdued
and the grass reaches for that rain
and the birds duck for cover
and the day decides to try again later
you can try to hold a little hope but
april is not yet over
ah, i feel tired

Ocean waves have gently pulsed
in your ear, ever since
you walked out of the sea.

The moon, her shining face,
so far from home, holds your
hand and weeps in peace.

You prefer it that way,
standing alone, glad
the captain is going down
with his ship, in comfort.

As a child years seemed to take decades to pass, as if I was stuck in some time loop watching the same years over and over...
And now years seem to bloom and fade away in mere seconds and there is as much fear as excitement in not knowing how much time I have until I have taken my last breath
And love is different now... I worry less about the concept of dying alone and fear a day I might not love as deeply as yesterday or might find a day I love someone less than the last because in all truth that wouldn't feel like love at all
I want my last breath to have and hold the chaos and insanity only found in the brief moments of madness that make time stand still so that it may witness the only thing more infinite than itself is love and that love is endless and is always growing deeper and reaching wider in our every breath from our first to our last and it is the one thing death dare not take from us but rather that in the kiss of death as as our bodies are reclaimed back to fire and wind and earth
we find our hearts immortal as death gives our souls back to love
