we're in a circle of love
a complete ring
our togetherness
is such a beautiful thing

we're in a union
a compact
our love
is sound and intact

we're in an accord
which does adhere
our feelings for each other
always endear

the songs of love
were written
especially
for
you and I
they'll ever be sung
with
a lasting tie

love shall e'er
be ours to share
for we make
such a snug pair

as the days and nights
of sweet love ensue
an endearing fondness
shall embrace
we two

love
an eternal circle
love an eternal
ring
holding
with
a
braided
binding
We part ways,
& the paths that we take
Lead us back to each other

Oh, how I suffer,
My rediscovered lover
Won't you please smother me?

Every time we say we're done
We'll still return for one more bump,
Take a bad hit of our drug
Then run back like addicts

So let's give this one last try
While my lantern oil runs dry
& I run aimlessly in the dark
Trying to find you

Pensive, I stare into this hourglass
Remissive, and reminiscent
of forgotten ever after
effervescently iridescent
Like flowing light observed through a prismastic prison

As my grasp slips,
sand will filter between my fingertips
And Ill swear with every falling grain
Someday they'll meet and create
a famous work of art
putting even Mona Lisa to shame;
Forged in the flames, of our eternal love

But in the blink of an eye, I'm buried;
Cemented in the sediment of time
Oh how I wish you'd carry me to the brink
Just one last instance, so I can feel alive again
While

through meaningless semi-existence
I actually just rediscovered an early draft of this written in December 2010. Felt this deserved to be finished. The title is a sort of combination of the phrases "Such love" and "love once lost"
a green dot is ever present
on my Facebook
the chap whose name is beside
is endlessly having look

yet he's not communicated
or had a wee chat
he may well prefer
his non conversant hat

others with green dots
are seeking to speak to me
they seem to hanker
for my verbal spree

that fellow can talk to me
whenever he doth wish
he's most welcome
to give his tongue a swish

I'll be online for an hour
or maybe five
so my time will be available
to chat with him live
One to make you smile...
the old timers in Virgina
couldn't cross that steep ravine
so they designed a span
to bridge the ravine

the spruce timbers which grew
on either side of the ravine's face
made it difficult for the workers
to put the girders into place

over a period of years they
constructed a fine steel span
which was akin to
a rainbow's open fan

the territory could then
be traversed from side to side
the ravine's sheer cutting
wouldn't hamper the old timer's stride

these days in Virgina
in that precipitous gorge country
folks can see their forebears
bridge building ingenuity

the dream of a ravine crossing
came into view
as the pioneer's rainbow wish
did come true

Deep in a cavern there lived a troll
Who coveted the light instead of gold
He lurked in the darkness behind the trees
Searching for light in all he could see
He thought that he'd discovered the light years ago
But his pixie girl said that she had to go
So this time he's waiting until he's sure
This time his light must have more to allure
Beauty and grace but mostly a soul
To bring the warmth of love to the troll
Each lady that passed he took to his lair
To see if more than her face was fair
But each one was lacking so after each pillage
He returned the vapid girls to their village
But one day a lady from a far away place
Walked by on the trail near his hiding place
He almost let her pass him by
Sure she'd be like the others he'd tried
But something inside forced his hand to reach out
He dragged her to his cave with a shout
She smiled because how could the troll know
That she'd been a troll not long ago
They talked and they laughed, the troll taking it slow
Deep inside he felt his heart start to glow
As he realized her elegance was partly a show
And that their hearts beat in perfect time with each other
Finally he took her as his lover
He felt himself going through a transformation
He no longer felt like his fate was damnation
He held the girl close and looked in her eyes
What he saw reflected was a surprise
No longer a troll, but a prince with red hair
He knew it was time to abandon his lair
The lady and prince emerged into the night
They walked hand in hand beneath the moonlight
He told her she'd saved him but she smiled and claimed
That he was the one who'd loosened her chains
My first attempt at a story-poem...inspired by a poem by Xan Abyss
So many emotions are mixed
In the cauldron of the mind
Boiling with rage
Fired by the dried logs of time
Entrapped in the bubbles
Are the memories
Stirred with the ladle of life
Cauldron kept hot
Till the fire burns with rage
