Joyce
A life without words.
Is a painting without paint.
A forrest without trees.
A beach without sand.
A rainbow without colors.
My life without you.
Is an empty space.
A bath full of tears.
A broken soul.
Brings a fake smile
on my face.
A fragile heart.
A sensitive mind.
My life filled with
words and you.
Is waking up
every morning.
See your smile every day.
Such a warm feeling
I can't replace.
Don't want to erase.
Wish I could be
your pillowcase.
Feeling your warm
gentle face.
See all of your dreams
in a different
kind of place.
This is a poem
of a loving girl.
Who can do anything
in a life with beautiful words.

Middle Class
Do you think I could fall away with October's leaves. The wind hits calm but true, the sun wakes for its bouts in the noon.  What's a campus fall to me? Do all these people know I see them? Am I a veiled expectant? An invisible crutch, my panning stare raising their arms there and back again as they follow the surveyed lines the pathways provide. It's prolonged smell of mud that takes me back. But ahead there's a campus fall. Equinox fear me not. I am not holding you to fate. I won't shiver or shrink if you miss the date. But I fear, oh what a pair, the campus and the fall, an anxious wait.

Unrequited Love

Stealing kisses on borrowed time
Oh darling, you are not mine.

Your war-torn hands are frigid to the touch
Like a ghost hidden in the cloak of dusk.

I'm searching, searching
Yet you are nowhere to be found--

In your empty love I drown.

Dear Atlas, come rest your weary bones.
Lay down your burdens upon the sepulcher
And mourn for the bereaved.
Look to the heavens in hopes to catch but a glimpse of that holy entity --
That sweet angel laid to rest an age ago.
Ease your encumbered shoulders
And do take a drawn-out breath
For you, dear Atlas, are deserving of rest.

You Love Her

You look into her eyes
And you see the stars.
A whole galaxy untold.
Her heart, the sun--
Radiant, warm, good.
From her lips, a whisper of truth:
a simple "I love you."
And within you stirs all the glory
And splendor of the unknown.

His lips taste like sorrow.
Bitter. Sweet. And everything in between.

He won’t tell of the hell he’s been through
But you can taste it when he kisses you.

He’ll smile.
He’ll pretend he’s fine.
He’ll tell you it’s nothing.
But you know he’s lying.

You know he’s lying right through his teeth.
But you taste the truth when he kisses you.

You taste the sorrow.
You taste the pain.
You taste the war within him.

You wonder if he knows that you understand.

What could've been
What should've been
What we were.

You were something
Yet I was nothing
At least, to you.

they said 'simple things matter'
and i think that's a lie
because my dear,
you are very complicated
yet you are what matters to me most
-- just a thought
