John F McCullagh
At first they were vivid,
Technicolor dreams.
So real you could touch them
and taste them it seemed.
With time all the images
would fade to pastel.
He saw his dreams
for what they were,
as realists often will.
When they turned to black and white
in the cold hard glare of day
He'd prayed then for a dreamless sleep
who needs them anyway.
Then came the darkest night
when all was bare and drear.
He longed then for the dreams of youth,
but none, of course, appeared

Cold mornings but yet i dont feel it...
Cold blooded soul
Got a heart with a hole....
No sealent...
30 and below
i wont start to show...
Black ice on the ground tell me you can see it...
Tropic antiseptic...
rubbed across my skin...
novacane injected...
followed by a pin...
No pain, just frost bitten..
with no mittens...
ground across my belly..
Eat the fruit I know your hungry...

I looked in the mirror and I saw it
The hideous thing..
Seeping from my nose
Peeking through my eyes
stretching from my ears....
Something that wasnt me...
but apart of me...
insainty...

And it surround it me,
held me like a mother would its child
and I accepted it
because it comforted me
made me feel secure
but I was far from safe,
The mirror became my prison
that internal heap of filth
made its way to the outside
trapping my true will inside
and it be came me..

stole my identity..
walked like me, spoke like me
but led me around blindlly
Im sorry, Im sorry
Im tryin to take back control
but he won these precious min
cunned me to give in
this Vile beast that feast
on my flesh and soul
I have to win this battle
not just to save my self
but those who i love so.

This darkness can't take over me!!!
Im declaring Victory!!

The Mystery is....still a mystery...
So i slove what i can...the problems of man...
The Mystery is.... still a mystery...
So i love who I can...According to plan...
The mystery is still a mystery...
So what will i find...Inside my mind...
the answers to some...the questions of all...
Where do you run... Who do you call...
The blessings of life no mystery there...
Just Call out his name for he is everywhere...
The Mystery is whats taking so long...
Let him into your heart thats where he belongs...

a kind of nostalgia
The funny thing about living in the dark
is that you don’t know it,
because there’s no light to expose it.

It takes someone
extraordinary
to reignite your inner flame.

Borne forth from darkness into light

A child is born this Christmas night

A Mother’s pain is turned to joy

as she swaddles her little boy.

Their habitation is the place

where beasts of burden spend the night.

Their bodies' heat the only warmth

on this cold and bitter night.

This child shall be called many things:

A fraud, a Myth, the King of Kings.

But Mary’s heart, a secret minds

This is the son of the Divine.

This night is born to us a King:

A true judge of the soul’s gain and loss,

whose wisdom will enflame men’s minds.

whose arms embrace us from the cross.

Jesus!
We shout out in shame
as we are looking
for someone else to blame.

Lord!
We exclaim in vain
as we look to see
the falling rain.

Oh God!
We report in a storm
filled with salt
as we decide it is not our fault.

We know it
we say it
but do we believe it ?

Use our heart
Just help us start
On Calvary our heart's he won

So shout it out
to the Son!
Just wrote this sitting here today 10/1/2011.

For the way we treat eachother
There is no way
To say how we do these crazy things
Yet we’ll change our minds
For nothing more than diamond rings and earthly kings.

One day we love how we talk
And sing and walk
The next we try to look away
And walk on to another day

If we have a soul how does it know when to stop and to go
But if we never burn or glow
Then what are we then?
We are simply nothing and no one wins.

We are so afraid of how we feel
That suddenly we can no longer be real.
We’re turned into something, someone else
until the tension softens and melts.

So now we feel fine or
Ok
Or alright
And then eventually we begin
To fall
Because we feel nothing at all.

All just for the way we treat eachother
Maybe we forget we are all sisters and brothers
Yet brothers hurt sisters and sisters hurt brothers
We are so worried about our own hearts beat
We loose ourselves in our own tension and heat.

We should look outside ourselves and let the feelings flow.
Unless we want our souls to fade
Let’s show each other a better way.

Baptism…Foreward

I prayed and hoped
I lost and wept
I was found by a boat
I, by the Lord’s waves, have been swept.

Baptism…Afterward

I pray and hope
I loose and weep
I am found by a boat that helps me cope
I, with the Lord’s waves, will sweep.
July 2008 a day after I was baptized in the Atlantic ocean in shore break waves on the beach with 2 other friends and my Dad holding my hand. Awesome.

In the face of young eyes
Years of hurt exposes steely tries
To cover older years of lies

For in a younger year
Their mind turns a gear
But it is only spinning for fear.

How many times
Must a child be a mime?
For someone elder’s crime.

Look in their soul
Give them a goal
To never be troubled nor sold.

Pave the Lord’s long way
Always straight and true will stay
And they will bloom as full as May.
October 2009. As an elementary teacher I see hundreds of faces every day with a look of sorrow and sometimes joy. That sorrow always puts a knot in my stomach while it turns. Children's sorrow only comes from an adult who has harmed them mentally or physically. As adults we have no right to take a child's joy from them when they never even knew anything different before. I hope I am giving at least 1 child a year some of that joy back to them.

Rolling on by east west way
I could almost see behind me,
As I almost did yesterday.
In my right corner eye
I saw the sun shine setting
and on my left the ocean was swaying and swelling.
Rolling on by east west way.

The sand searchers toy store
was full and flowing more and more.
Yet while staring at it straight ahead
I only saw a light changing to red.
Rolling on by east west way.

So I glanced a moment to the setting sun
and to my right was the only direction
I could see the light.
But the sand searchers toy store was blocking the rays
and it only beckoned me to play.
Rolling on by east west way.

If only I could've rolled on by east west way
as the sun was rising over the ocean's sway.
Then perhaps I would see and stay
in the right light.
Not rolling on by east west way.
August 2008 thought of it while driving by a street sign called East West Way.
