reflects smiles
mirrors pains
its beauty beguiles
entertains

wakes up heart
opens door
transcends art
furthermore

swells in vein
its maddening flow
drops as rain
on parchment glow

once seeded within
grows deep root
makes you come clean
speak only truth

soul's inked beat
pearls dug from deep
in true spirit
have it worshipped.
Poetry is a spirit; they that would worship it must worship in spirit and in truth.

I was invited,
She was dressed in red,
A long sleeve blouse
to hide
the upper arm gills,
Cuts inflicted with
perfect knife skills,
Invited by the friend
of a friend's friend,
That never slowed her down.

She appeared before me,
Inviting me to her bed,
When I said, "Hello"
She was wounded and insulted
and told me to go.
When I started to leave,
She lay on the bed,
Threatening suicide
if I left.

She held me in high esteem
or so she said,
When I came forward
she told me to "drop dead. "

It's a black and white world
in her head
with no hues or colors
but dripping dread
it's what happens
with trauma's invalidation,
No boundaries, no barriers
rip tides running
takes her under.

Everything changes in a
moment
from tears to rage
and back again.

"I'm warning you," she said.
A gut check,
I thought I was up
to the task,
When she was silent,
I just had to ask,
"Is there anything I
can do to help? "

She jumped out the window
made a mad dash.

I sat on the curb
to consider my fate
smoke my last cigarette
she had taken my pack.
I fell into my shoes,
Staring,
Waiting for one of them
to move.

"I love you sweetheart" she said,
"You'd better go,
I love you sweetheart
don't go away.

I love you sweetheart
stay here - no not
there
over here. "

A dancing puppet,
I learned to love her truly.
I made the moves,
Learned acceptance, too.

Then she saw you.

I returned from the borderline
a little less smug
not so refined,
Now late at night
when anxiety has passed,
She comes into my mind,
I toss and turn
fall off the bed,
I don't know if she's
alive or dead
in
heaven or hell,
A test for all those
who think they know love.

If you fail, you pass,
If you pass you fail.

Beware of uninvited guests
dressed in red.

Another sleepless night
3am, a bit beyond
the witching hour

A time of quiet reflection
Remembering dreams lost
& Creating dreams to be

Thinking of past sorrows
Anticipating tomorrow's
Joys

Another sleepless night

Contemplating Life's mystery
And
Marveling at the
Wonder of it all...

When the doors are closed
and its cold outside
would you,
sell your soul for one last try
to search for the life you could never find
just push those bad thoughts to the back of your mind
and the wind starts howling and lights up your bones
with an undying hope that reminds you of home
you know that you've never had no place to go
but the feeling is real
so don't ever let it go (oh, oh, oh)
Cause your heart is Gold (oh, oh, oh)
Don't let it go
And her tragedy lies in the depths of despair
in a room where lit cigaretts fill up the air
she sits in the corner and twirls her hair
and her tears fall and burn from the pain she cant bear
but your beauty reflects your soul
and your heart is made of gold
so don't let it go (oh, oh, oh)
cause your heart is gold (oh, oh, oh)

I'm writing love letters to the dead
not because you're dead but
because I'm never going to see you again
and that's as good as dead
I guess
I suppose
I sort of
kind of
hope.

Cherry lips, cherry wine

No cherry's scent as sweet as thine

A kiss for you and a beating heart

Cherry lips, these cherries mine

Cherry wine still in a glass

But cherry cheeks drained white at last
I seem to be inspired by couples on the street

And I am
so sorry
For loving you
as much as I did
It's just that
You were the only constant
In my ever-changing life
And no matter how hard
I pushed you away,
For some reason,
You were still there

And the crowd roars, worshiping the hero,
Above she stands *****, her gaze piercing lost souls,
And the crowd bows, obeys the idol,
Behold, she rises, her voice thunderously falls,
And the crowd howls, swords and arrows,
“Peace!” Her bleeding heart sheds hidden sorrow.

You and your shadow
In a silent rendezvous
Trying to figure out
The differences
In the images portrayed
Part of you
Many crossroads between
Within you so many events
Wants attention
Thoughts, feelings, emotions
Yet, shadow unperturbed
Unaware
Still claims to be your reflection
Maybe of contradictions
Imitating every intricate moves
But the mind and heart
Has a different story to narrate
Let’s infuse life in the shadow
And ask, how it feels
Life of a shadow
Should be an interesting anecdote
Ask the lights nearby
What the rays have nurtured
Shadow shall speak
For itself
Or about the accumulated stories
You went through
Is it a silent observer?
Or, just absorbs the negative emotions
Let it speak for itself
Unravel the truth with its narrative

so  beauty is
measured
not in time worn remembering
but in  youthful exuberance

brilliance parlayed
censored
by lack of experience
is young and fades away

wise is the one
best when
seeing true beauty
glow and never fade

by eyes of memory
or genius
that knows beauty
is

ordinary magnificence
lives in the daily rituals
of caring for the
day to day
