Doobie Shemer Mar 2015
Often she drifts, confused, in a painful disbelief,
“Why?” She asks, tormented by grief,
Would she ever know?
Would she ever comprehend?
Humble, eyes closed; she prays and reaches out her hands.

Lost Soul journeys, mysteries unfold,
Frozen winding roads, fated stories to be told,
Breathe, mystical light awakening the inner call,
Exhale, heaven is her comfort and relief,
Milky Way illuminates her footsteps… she leaves.

Silence, sorrow has landed, weep holy ground,
Hurtful breeze had blown, memories had shaded and gone,
Soul searches mate, none found,
Oh, heavenly spirit, do not let hopes be downed,
Carry my prayers, for my beloved and I unbound.

I saw a lonely red Rose,
I saw a lonely sad Girl,
I picked the lonely Rose,
I gave it to the lonely sad Girl,
She smiled,
Lonely, I disappeared.

And the crowd roars, worshiping the hero,
Above she stands *****, her gaze piercing lost souls,
And the crowd bows, obeys the idol,
Behold, she rises, her voice thunderously falls,
And the crowd howls, swords and arrows,
“Peace!” Her bleeding heart sheds hidden sorrow.

Miles' trumpet guides me to the board,
I am in tears,
"Espresso please, for here"
Kind of Blue, misty, cool,
Coltrane takes over, charging my ears
I breathe, so smooth...
Evan's keyboard stimulates my soul,
Last sip of that hot spirit,
Miles takes it all,
Leaving, time to go...

Inviting open doors, escaping the freezing morning,
“Espresso please, oh… and one croissant,”
Hide in the early morning shadows,
Clouds are my cave, deep in the hollow.

Please understand, your are not the reason,
I leave you temporarily, so I can return,
Crumbled, I run away from myself,
You are not the reason I am confused and helpless.

“Here is your espresso and the croissant too.”
“Please type here to pay” I calculate the tip.
Anonymously, long dress she enters,
Cruising the store careless, pretends not know they noticed.

Bright morning washing empty streets,
Another tall latte ordered,
Radiohead still knocking my head,
I will return to you soon, awake and refreshed,

Please understand, you are not my reason,
You are why I will forever return.
