Rain drops
are the tears
of the
clouds

Rays
are the smiles
of the
sun

Tears of joy
come
from an overwhelm
The weight of the joy is heavy

On days we see the rain falling with the sun shining
Should we  expect blessings

Ravishing Queen
Not in my once upon a time but at all times
Flies fearlessly like a butterfly
Ready to explore the world and never loses her true North
She's made a life for herself and her hands have been blessed with a midas touch
I've seen her cry before and she's made that go away
She's proven to be resilient and to be made of steel
She's a wonder woman trying to save the world even when she's lost everything
Kindness, care and empathy are her portion and I've had a sip
She's a tower of strength and lady of great wisdom
She's an African queen
Sometimes I think what I see is what I believe
I've seen beauty in African Queens
Our mothers and sisters
This is dedicated to them

It's never Halloween
But the demons are always out.
Turning my good days into bad ones

I write this poem
Because I have a question
A question I have been wanting to ask you
From the day that I met you

We talked and talked
Shared songs
Spoke about jobs
Read poems
Talked about school

We spoke with each other
Through messages
So I never got to know your voice
Your way of talking

You might see where I am going
So I'll ask it directly
Will you meet me
Over a cup of coffee?

As I stepped out of the front door to meet my fiance,
The cheeky full moon followed me,
Hiding behind clouds,
Blushing sweetly.
It lighted my senses,
Magic touched my soul,
The sky blissful.
My fiance and I agreed to have a romantic dinner under the enticing  moonlight,
Feeling love for each other over and over.

Love don’t live here
I am lust in disguised
A reckless man,
A reckless lover
Black clouds underneath blue sky
A monsoon, soon underneath your eyes
A shaky terrain
For all hearts that ever dare to feel for me
A drop of truth
Inside a bucket of lies
Baby If I were you
I would run away from my lies
Like tear drops against bruised skin
For not a single seed from your basket of love
Could ever grow and blossom here
In this deceitful desert of my soul
A soft warning for the sake of your heart
Out of a last drop of an empty bucket of truth
Baby I can only pray
It reaches your heart on time
Before you fall!

Love doesn’t test, it gives!

Love doesn’t control, it frees!

Love is wise but never calculating

I know we don’t always see eye to eye

From time to time

Baby , just  pull me close

And love me anyway!
If you are going to love...there will always be the risk of vulnerability!

Trying to avoid vulnerability will only steer you around the love you need!

I was walking in
that old betrayer,
rain.
I was soaked to the gills,
and my wingtips were
sloshing on every
broken sidewalk.
The wind took my last
match, so smoking was out.
I'd give my liver for
a lighter and two
dimes to rub together.
I think I'll join the
carnival, get on that
tunnel of love and never
get off.

Listen to all the unrest
What if they all knew
The universe
Is trying to talk us through

You better learn to listen
And expand your beliefs
There’s no rest for the wicked
And
Religions can be a thief

Suffer and slumber
Or wake up and fly
There’s much more
Than flesh on the line!

Ideas grew old
Many times retold
Refurbished

Designs on the web
The spider knew its craft
The fly well caught
Adorned as centre piece

Reroofed and rebuilt
The origins restored
Lotus grew manifold

Memories of the old pond
Settled in the wet mud
Sliding over the new lotus leaves

Everlasting the ideation
The ideas old, retold
Refurbished

~
The beauty
Of your nest
Lies in knowing
What hides within
Is better than the rest

A glimpse through your foliage
Reveals a soft calyx
The petals of which are
The enthroned souls of the faithful
But a trap door nonetheless

When I enter
You will sigh
When I keep at it
You will know why
Angels sing
