You miss a meal,
Then it turns to two,
A day passes,
And no one notices you.

Craving nutrition,
There goes a week,
Those many hours,
Longing for something to eat.

Using the same excuse,
"I'm not hungry, I just ate,"
The numbers keep dropping,
Was sixty-three, now fifty-eight.

You can't go back,
People are noticing you,
They say you should eat, and you say,
"You have something better to do."

It's harder than you think,
Just leave me alone!
Stop telling me to eat and drink!
If I need you, I can find my phone.
This poem is about an eating disorder, it’s dangerous and those that have it can be greatly effected. Not only them, but those around them as well.

I am but a nation,

Torn to pieces

My poor broken heart

left to scatter apart

Like a flag,

Abandoned to the breeze

And the mercy of whichever way

The winds may take me.

My colours are faded

And split apart

Representing the many different parts

Of my life.

Red is my passion

And love in my heart,

White is where my thoughts and feelings

Are at their most pure,

Green is for growth

And my love of nature,

Yellow is my cowardice

Of which I am ashamed,

And black

Contains all possibilities.

In singularity each only represents

Part of me

Only when colours unite together

To unify my soul

Will you ever

Get to see me whole.

My body
                                        Worthless
                                                              A blank canvas
                                          Too small
                                                              Thin
                                           Scrawny
                                                               Lanky
                                            Wasted
                                                               Potential
                                         Disgusting
                                                               Imperfect
                                          Unhealthy
                                                               Fine
                                        Disgraceful
                                                               Awkward

                                    What they see
                                                               Doesn't matter
                                       Whether a 4
                                                                Or a 7
                                     My 108 lbs
                                                                 Isn't what I am
My body
Isn't me
I tried to do a thing where the left is a negative look at my body which I deal with on a daily basis, and the right is a more positive outlook. My body isn't perfect, far from it, but that's okay

I am so close I can reach out and touch you
But I do not think I could make you stay
If you wanted me you would be
With me longer than just one day

I saw the way you looked at me
You were happy to see me again
Everything you did reminded me
Why I haven't looked at other men

Maybe this is temporary
Soon we won't have to be apart
Hope you plan on coming back to me
Instead of wasting my time and heart
Possibly the only thing more valuable than time is love

Part of me's
Been broken
Most of me
Still runs

I would give you
Heart and soul
To be your only one

No, you need not be lonely
On this desert road alone
Ask me what's for dinner
And I will take you home

It’s a story of love at first sight, or at least by the third drink
You said You’re a true gentleman ‘fore you puked in the sink.
You promised you would love me true, that I was your white knight
But now you’re sleepin’ in a different castle every night.

You left me several subtle hints that you had finally gone
Like scatterin’ my boxers and my Trojans on the lawn.
It’s a quick trip from I love you to Goodbye, and that’s that.
It seems to me you’ve drowned your torch, so I’ll just drown your cat.

The first night we spent together, hell, it was like a dream
And seein’ you in dawn’s first light didn’t make me scream.
You allowed that you could learn to like me quite a bit
Next mornin’ in my driveway there’s two U-Hauls with your ****.

Once I’d put my arms around you and whisper Mornin', hon.
Now if I woke up next to you, I’d just reach for my gun.
It’s a quick trip from I love you to Goodbye, and that’s that.
It seems to me you’ve drowned your torch, so I’ll just drown your cat.

It took only a day or two for the cracks to appear
You made some unkind comments about my Ward Burton mirror.
And you told me to turn off Johnny Cash after a song or two
The Man in Black’s in Heaven, but there ain’t no room for you.

Well, you’ve heard tell of Mr. Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street
Compared to a shrew like you ol’ Freddy’s kinda sweet.
It’s a quick trip from I love you to Goodbye, and that’s that.
It seems to me you’ve drowned your torch, so I’ll just drown your cat.

Now I see you at the Dew Drop Inn with this evening’s Mr. Right
Just one more stupid ******* screwin’ up his life tonight
‘Cause I’m sure the hell you put me through will be on tap for him
I hope that he’ll get over you, and I hope your cat can swim.

I ain’t doin’ no name callin, won’t call you ***** or hag
I’m just carryin ol’ **** In Boots inside this burlap bag
It’s a quick trip from I love you to Goodbye, and that’s that.
It seems to me you’ve drowned your torch, so I’ll just drown your cat.
Yes, I suspect this would be the worst country song ever recorded.

As the sun moves to the western horizon
Colors are skilfully blended in a palette
In an instant the sky becomes an exquisite canvas of art
Making even Van Gogh burn in jealousy

With the last glimmer of sunset
When the shadows chase the light,
The aerial folks fly back to their nests
Like black and white specks dotting the sky

With a dark drape stretched across the Earth’s face
The arrival of the night is a spectacular sight
Cicadas and crickets welcome her with their ceremonious band
And street lamps blink their eyes to catch a better view

While truant clouds still wander around aimless
The cerulean sky signals them to hurry
Stars slowly appear in the night sky
Like sequins stitched on to a blue brocade

The crescent moon smiles down
The empress of the night, proud and regal
She and her retinue keep guard over the slumbering Earth
The unpaid sentries of the night!

A gentle breeze makes a palanquin ride
Wafting in the scent of opening buds
The beauty of the night sends me to raptures
My heart exploding like foaming wine in a bottle

Yet I cannot but keep wondering
How many dark secrets
The night holds
Within her tenebrous folds!
What a pleasant surprise, this poem is made the daily. Thanks to everyone for making it possible through your likes and kind comments. These days I can't see the daily and I don't know where to look for it. The site is sometimes quite tricky.....Thanks a lot once again !

For her I played a song of lust
It still haunts me across the years
Caught between severed ties of trust
Like an image between two mirrors

I see her eyes they never change
They still see straight through my soul
She draws me in her vicious game
Such a familiar repeting role

An echo on some distant wind
She draws me back for more
I write a dozen songs to mend
Still my heart's an open sore

The pattern is our worlds collide
They we go our separate ways
Across a sea of inconsistent lies
We ride on different waves
