Wherever Here Is

When you're asked wherever here is
It's the place you are right now
The place where someone should be
When you need them to be around

Sometimes wherever here is
Is a place where you're alone
Wherever here is may just be
A place you dont want known

Wherever here is could be
Where you're needed most
Sometimes wherever here is
Means someone else is lost

Wherever here is can be
A place thats seldom found
Dont ask wherever here is
Wherever is all around

Listen To Your Feelings

Have you ever met somebody
That you know you just dont like
Right away you get a feeling
That somethings just not right

You think it's just a feeling
That soon will go away
But the feeling just gets stronger
No matter what they say

It's a feeling that you just cant shake
One thats deep within your soul
A feeling that makes you say
Something here is wrong

You must listen to your feelings
For they'll guide you to whats right
Those feelings that are in you
They may someday save your life

Dark n Beautiful
Give and Take
I do not speak of love:
because I struggle with its true meaning
I do not say good morning to strangers
What’s so good about it

I do not celebrate birth:
a child is born:
suddenly someone die
I do not exchange gift on holidays,
Or birthdays
because that cycle will continue
Like the never-ending story:

Life is a struggle within itself by having
To pretend to like strangers,
exchanging  gifts
It’s a profane of utter of words under one breath
the hellos, or good mornings

I do not speak of ****:
because the taboo is that only weak men get ****
Why?
Because there has been so little research into the **** of men

I do not speak kindly to any relationship with a married man
The Bible does not talk about dating
Only marriages, unhappiness,
And foreign lands

However, only spend time on those who love you
Unconditionally

His Voice or Mine

With his kiss upon your lips
As you  close your eyes
Do you think about the life we had
Or the new life he provides

Can his hands carress your body
The ways that mine once did
Will his touch give you pleasure
Like only I could give

Can you see true love in his eye's
Like the love I had for you
Will your heart beat just as fast
As when I walked in the room

Does the memory of him fill your day
Is our memory lost in time
As you sleep within your dreams
Do you hear his voice or mine

Mirror, mirror on this wall, I’ll remember you as you fall.

In slow motion you crumble, you stood so strong.
Keeping all records of their wrongs, but why?
Your burden was what you reflected, what you surround.
You fell in the open, but no one heard a sound.

Discouraged and misplaced, you shattered
All of your pieces scattered.

Broke apart to create a work of art

True but still funny. A typical cops night.

Dumb Love/Drunk Love

Today I tried to call you
You didn't pick up the phone
I drove bye and saw his car
And knew you weren't alone

I tried to call you one more time
While I stood outside your door
You pretended not to hear my call
And ignored me even more

I decided I would go out back
Throw stones and sing a song
Serenade you with my words
And prove my love once more

You opened up your window
Screamed, please leave me alone
But I know what you wanted
Was for me to keep on going

That guy inside I didnt know
Came out and said to leave
He had something in his hands
What it was, I could not see

I heard you scream into the night
Leave now or you will die
Thats when I saw he had a gun
And the fire in his eyes

I saw a flash and heard a bang
Then I decided I should run
Thats when I knew my love for you
Was over and now done

I saw the lights as the cop's arrived
And watched them search for me
Then I realized that where you lived
Was over one more street

One Good Day

Can you think of one good day
That you remember from your past
A day when everything went right
One you wish you could have back

That day you tell to others
When you talk about good times
The one that brings a smile
Makes you feel good deep inside

Can you think of one good day
That you wish you had again
One that was so perfect
That you hoped would never end

Take that day and share it
With someone you don't know
Give to them just one good day
And let the feeling grow

One good day can be enough
To change somebody's view
When you give someone one good day
It's one good day for you

I'm  Home

I got my own place today
And I did this without you
Turned the key and unlocked the door
And saw the empty rooms

The empty rooms reminded me
That although you wont be here
I'll have a chance to fill the rooms
With memories I'll hold dear

I can paint the walls with colors
Brite and pleasing to my eyes
Cover up past pain and hurt
Now knowing I'll survive

I can look out each new window
Or look in and see the views
And never see a memory
Of the times I spent with you

I will place my pictures on the walls
Let your memory fade from view
And rearrange my future
To allow for something new

This new place I have will be my home
Where new memories will be made
It all began when I turned the key
As I walked in today

I'm Home
I'm Home

I tried to show the emotion and hurt and at the same time the healing. I also wanted to stay true to both the physical as well as the emotionaal move.

yes, Yes, YES!

I think about you all day long
But must wait to call your name
You give me what I need the most
A release from my long day

Your boldness just amazes me
The coolness of your looks
I wrap my hands around you
And gently pull you to my lips

All my friends they wish they had you
They admire what they see
They want to have you with them
When they see you're here with me

Your seduction starts out slowly
Anticipating whats in store
My feeling of excitement grows
And I want you even more

The head you give it wont last long
I'll feel your wetness on my tongue
Then close my eyes and take you in
A guilty pleasure till I'm done

I think about you all day long
But must wait to call your name
And when that moment finally comes
Guinness Draft is what I'll say

It's beer people, just beer...lol. And just what were you thinking this poem was about? Get your minds out of the gutter and leave some room for me..lol

She Wants To Have The Talk

She says she wants to have the talk
I know im in trouble now
I try to change the subject
But she brings it back around

The talk she wants is special
At least it is to her
She says it is important
And I should hear her every word

She says she'll be right over
That she can start the talk right now
I tell her I'm so busy
And right now im out of town

She tells me that im lying
She knows that im inside
She's been watching me for hours
Been sitting in my drive

Speechless I dont say a word
Then I hear her at the door
I hide inside my bedroom
Under clothes piled on the floor

I hear her come inside my house
She is getting closer now
She says that she can see me
That I should slow my breathing down

She takes my hand and sits with me
Looks straight into my eyes
Tells me just how much she cares
Has feeling deep inside

She says the love she feels for me
Has grown stronger over time
But she must now move forward
It is time to change her life

I say now wait a minute
I cannot lose you now
I can give you what it is you want
I am ready to settle down

She bows her head and I hear her say
Is this the real you
Are you sure you want to settle down
Is it what you want to do

I say it's what I want the most
My decision has been made
Thats what I want to happen
And I need her to please stay

She looks at me and smiles
Says we can set a wedding day
I cant believe I fell for it
She played me like a game

At the talk she is the master
Of getting what she wants
Now married with three kids in school
I LOVE HER VERY MUCH

Carl Joseph Roberts
Nope, im not married but I imagine this is what it will be like...lol. I will hide, hide and hide but when that day comes again, if that day comes again, im sure my life will be like this. Umm, without the three kids in school cause im past that.....lol.

I saw her at the diner
She caught my eye right from the start
It wasn't too long after
That this woman caught my heart

She didn't fit in with the people
Drinking coffee , eating up
She was drinking with her pinkie out
As she held her coffee cup

She's was high class in a low class world
That was plain as plain could be
I wanted to be in her world
And I wanted her with me
She was queen of somewhere
I don't know, and I wanted to be king
She was high class in a low class world
And I wanted to be king

She had her napkin tucked
Just so, you know
Not all scrunched up in a ***
And she only dabbed the corners
Like an Angel sent from God

She was crisp and pressed and perfect
Not a hair was out of place
And the light just made her eyes shine
She had such a lovely face

She's was high class in a low class world
That was plain as plain could be
I wanted to be in her world
And I wanted her with me
She was queen of somewhere
I don't know, and I wanted to be king
She was high class in a low class world
And I wanted to be king

She was sitting in our diner
although she belonged far uptown
Most folks here all wore ball caps
while she deserved a crown

When she spoke, my heart just trembled
Her voice was breathy, like a wisp
And she spoke like she was Royal
So cool and cut and crisp

She's was high class in a low class world
That was plain as plain could be
I wanted to be in her world
And I wanted her with me
She was queen of somewhere
I don't know, and I wanted to be king
She was high class in a low class world
And I wanted to be king

She was someone from a movie
Full of mystery, intrigue
And I knew from looking at her
She was way out of my league

I wouldn't know just where to start
She was gold and I was tin
She was High class in my low class world
And I surely wanted in

I stood there in the kitchen
Washing dishes in the sink
And I knew I'd go home lonely
What else was there for to think?

She's was high class in a low class world
That was plain as plain could be
I wanted to be in her world
And I wanted her with me
She was queen of somewhere
I don't know, and I wanted to be king
She was high class in a low class world
And I wanted to be king

Better days were in the past
For the bar and all inside
Windows broke and lights burned out
The bar had long since died

Carpets gone and floors all worn
Scorch marks on the wall
Smells of stale beer in the air
the bar had it's last call

Welcome to the Stagger Inn
Good Food and Cold Beer Too
Live bands every single night
And it's air conditioned too
Welcome to the Stagger Inn
A bar befits it's name
We'll take you the way you are
And we're mighty glad you came

The stage was now an eyesore
As was most of what was here
Way back in the corner
Sat a woman with her beer

Hair was streaked with boot black
From a time, who knows when
The bar was dead or dying
As were most in this old den

A few nights folks would still come here
To see the towns old jewel
What once was gold and glistened
Now was just no longer cool

The lady way back in the corner
Hadn't danced since eighty three
Ten times a night she'd go and
Play the jukebox tune  5B

A song about the devil
calling him silver tongued was  her pick
She'd hit the worn out buttons
While giving her  chapped lips a lick

Sitting in the back and nursing
A beer as dead as the bar
On a steady diet of Winstons
That had made her voice as thick as  tar

Welcome to the Stagger Inn
Good Food and Cold Beer Too
Live bands every single night
And it's air conditioned too
Welcome to the Stagger Inn
A bar befits it's name
We'll take you the way you are
And we're mighty glad you came

Maybe fifteen people came here
When the other places were full
You could see the worn out tiles
Where there once was a mechanical bull

Trends were never big here
Though they tried a few to survive
The bar was dead and dying
Housing folks who now were barely alive

The last band that they had here
Was a cover group from down in NC
They didn't last the evening
Getting out done by  old 5B

The woman in the corner
With the boot black streak of wild
closed her eyes and listened
To the memories she had compiled

If you ever choose to come here
I don't think you'll stay long
But, I know you'll hear a singer
Talk of the devil in that 5B song

The door is always open
At the dead and dying Stagger Inn
A place that still lives through the ages
And the folks remembering what might have been

Welcome to the Stagger Inn
Good Food and Cold Beer Too
Live bands every single night
And it's air conditioned too
Welcome to the Stagger Inn
A bar befits it's name
We'll take you the way you are
And we're mighty glad you came
