Footsteps in the sand
The beach was your homeland,
You walked your regrets
Away,
Away with the day
You always helped
Sea turtles when
You were too sick
To work anymore
When we walked
On the beach
In California
After she passed
You'd sit there in
That restaurant
Pouring salt
Over each individual
Tortilla chip
Before eating it
To this day
That's how
I eat them too
There are
So many
memories
Of what
Made you,
You
I was the rain that
Lands on the
Sleeve of your umbrella
Gracefully falling
Unseen
Into the touch of your palm.

A calm tide rushes in upon
Writings in the glittering sand
Dew, sparkling, shatters morning light
Dawn blushes, hues waning under pacific clouds

Then, I see a window.
Lucid blue
A sliver, a slice out of dawn's constant blush
And a little white bird lends  me its feathers
So I lift my eyes...

Then I rise.

we learn then unlearn
how to be free
as we trade secrets
with the magpies
of Arthur's Quay Park
it's' on these summer days
such promises are made
keeping us warm
through seasons change
as we dance
to The Golden Horde
where a two for one
concession on the door
grants access to Termites
and its' cider soaked floor
here in this world
we have all that we need
we feel it through
reverberations
of music and heart
we won't want for much
once we don't lose our senses
our senses of touch

the years would give
what the magpies stole
to a lakeside hotel
where the clinking of glass
greets a grand hall
wedding guests align
a ballroom of romance
two friends move
so lost in time
trying to adult
whilst never growing old
we won then we lost
and we won again
but i never promised riches
i never promised poems
so here is our world
and all that we have
we feel it through
celebrations
of our music and heart
we don't want for much
for we never lost our senses
our senses of touch
"We are two friends lost in time
when your eyes are passing mine
I see we've been through
so much in our lives
We are two friends so in love
the times we've been together,
We're true friends in time"

How long did I believe
The sunrise is forever
He told me
And I saw the golden hues of hope
Sculpted into forever
And a day--
Until one day what was inbetween
All the sunrises emerged
And I tasted the bitter,
the butter, the batter of all the other.
I feel like poetry helps me to learn how to process all the uncomfortableness of life unfolding, and lets me peal away layer after layer, to uncover what is ready to be understood.

words that rhyme
taking snippets out of time.

they can be here and now
or long ago.

they can be familiar
or someone you don't know.

they can speak of love given
or of love hidden.

they can be happiness or sorrow
but, always they tell a story.

a poem is what i wanted to write
to say the things i feel.
no matter how difficult
i wanted to get to the real.

words to help me with fixing my broken places
anointing me with all that graces my heart.

CLARYT
I was walking along watching only the sky,
When I saw something out of the corner of my eye,
It was floating and dancing with a mind of its own,
And I wanted to catch it, and bring it on home,

It was whiter than snow and was fluffed like a cloud,
"Oh, look at that" I found myself saying, out loud,
I was told as a child, should we see such a thing,
It's our angels, sending a clip from their wings,

A reminder I'm told, Of our loved ones who've passed,
such a feeling it gave me, it was quite unsurpassed,
For to catch such a thing and to hold it with me,
Filled my heart with a glow, and my sorrows set free,

If you see a white feather, try to catch it and run,
Bring it home in your pocket, show it to everyone,
Tell them what it might mean, spread the love and the joy,
I hope mine was my mother, saying "hello, and enjoy"......

White feathers are believed to be angels reminding us that were not alone, and little messages from our loved ones who have passed, saying hello..

I’m in love with the landscape,
the great blue seas dancing
in the breeze, lustrous trees
and leaves swaying in various
degrees, brilliant beaches, green
fields of fluorescent features,
cerulean creations, mesmerizing
moments sifting inside my soul,
the summer glow upon my existence.
The face of the sky brightening
within my reach, crisp clouds
covering my heart like smooth,
silky sheets, wondrous dreams,
rapturous beauties coming alive
in the tide, the breath of love
all around this serene escape.
