The festive season soon to begin
No matter what the rains have to pour
Can’t dampen the spirit of festivities
Mother goddess, the divine
Will protect and provide
Empower and inspire
In days ahead
Of unwavering sunshine

Words are crimson threads spun by my pen
needling my woolly soul for expression,
each a stitch in Life's tapestry
my thoughts long and steely bodkins
I scatter words as sharp and shining pins
each sufficient to raise red upon
the flaccid fabric of empty minds
pinning ideas, often controversially
averse to neither comment nor complaint
I am a human wheel of spin,
pricking consciousness
threading with thought empty consciences
why I write

We've sailed cerulean seas to pastel shores,
Known only to the glorious few,
We have disembarked, ready to explore,
As our lone ship waits slumbering in view
of the glorious bay. Light paints daybreak
across the sky. We see the rising sun
through imagined jungle—and hesitate:
The image lingers, but it must be done,
Eyes close. Toward the interior we turn
remembering, and hoping to return.

.
There's an apartment,
In front of my house,
All with balconies facing mine.

None has a green hand but one,
& that entresol is full of life.

A combination of frondescence brings life everywhere,
Pegions & birds sits on its roof,
Feasting my eyes and ears full.

A small 4'/6' space used so very intricately,
A garden in the edges,
&
It's a working space too,
With clothes line and washing machine.

Big green tomatoes,
Red peppers,
Lemon grass,
A big red Jasmine flower,
Abundant cherry tomatoes,
A small Mango tree,
A gooseberry tree,
A bamboo tree too
They all fill and fit in that small space.

The dedication of family amazes me,
Their empathy for plants fills me with gratitude,
They don't pluck anything,
All veggies and fruits ripe on plants,
A green cherry tomato turns red on the plant,
A green pepper turns shining red,
Jasmine blossoms on the tree till it withers,
It's an amazing thing,
It's patience and pristine.

The mezzanine in front of mine,
It's life in itself,
The otherwise dead apartment,
Comes alive just because of this foliage.

nebulous galaxies
                          spiraling forth
stars collecting
                          in clusters              lost
configuring
               constellations           in

                                      space
and
                time-
                                  travelling
   through
                        light-years
duly                                             revolving,
              aligning
     with                       the Sun
                    and                           the Moon
suspended
                      in the interstellar
I am expiring in expectation
The aspen trees dance and swim
In a sea of invisible labor
I am impressed with all the metaphors
You invented, only to describe
The daily massacre of beauty
