The growth of the Willows correspond
to the increased loudness of their rustling
reaching for the Sun
while the winds ruffle their leaves
waving to the Universe with spindly boughs
massed together like an impenetrable jungle.
How those thin and shaky trees survive winter
the battering wind and chill factor, is amazing.

Another kid dead
They got it on YouTube
Another kid bled
By a bullet to the head
Shot by the boys in blue
Cause that what the cops do
Down in the dark alleys
Up in Chicago city
No gun pulled
Just blood pooled
Another punk schooled
In the American dream
I wrote this in may

Welcome to your execution
You will not be exonerated
Your rights will not be debated
In this secret prison
This bay of pigs
But it’s not the pigs imprisoned
Corporate sponsored terrorism
Government created schism
Between the illusion of rights
And the truth
There will be no repeals
And when we are ready
Secret tribunals with no oversight
Will oversee your execution
Or worse your lifetime imprisonment

and I hope they realise just how effective their dancing has been

Compassion is a
Smile
An open ear
No judgment

Compassion
Is a hug
Warm
And accepting

Compassion
Is a tissue
For the tearful
And my last dollar bill
To a stranger

Compassion
Is a thousand fold paths
Of daily acts
Of kindness

From Americas rocky mountain tops
To the Himalayan snow capped peaks
These are the things of nature
That all of us should keep

Australias barren outback
Englands green and pleasant hills
Nature free for all mankind
Who seek her gentle thrills

From the Amazon tropic forests
To the arctics icy wastes
Things of natural beauty
When traveled at natures pace

The azure blue seas of the Pacific isles
Cruel dark seas of the southern cape
Placed there by natures hand
To be respected without hate

Drab plumage of the desert vulture
Bright birds of Paradise
Birds of every colour
Birds of every size

Scorpions of the desert sands
And the grey atlantic seals
Both there for a reason
As only nature can reveal

Think about the lion
The African king of beasts
The soft eyed Chinese panda
That our children find so cute

Mountain tops and hidden valleys
Vast lakes and rolling seas
All put there by natures hand
But not to be abused

Animals, reptiles, birds
Put there for me and you
They should be studied in the wild
Not trapped inside a zoo

We cannot alter history
Or repair the damage we have caused
But we can stop the mass destruction
Of the world that's mine and yours...

*Also around the world in fourty lines
We read so many poems here about man's abuse of this once beautiful earth. My poem The Way It Should Be really is the way it should be

I am not a slave
To your different stages
Of human classification

I am not a pale Caucasian
In a white racist nation
Even though this is a very racist
Population

I am not gender specific
Just because I got a thick ****
I am not gay cause I like a chick flick
There are no chick flicks

I am not a perfect American
Not a patriotic idiotic citizen
Not ready to stand and salute the flag

I am not straight nor am I a ***
Not a denizen of the masculine
Or a queen of the feminine
My ****** urges do not define me
They do not confine me
To little square boxes

She opens a vein
Red roses explode
Split petals bloom
Fractured rainbows of gloom
And doom

This is as close to the kisses
Of the ones she misses
That she can get

To forget in drowsy hours
Those dripping red flowers
Like the red queen
Her love was just a dream
A holy holiday
Of her lips to her lips

Because society resists
Wouldn't allow her to exist
Since she doesn't fit as she is
She decides to exits this ****

A radiant girl
A beautiful woman
Cruelly dismissed
No one knew
Her inner lighted truth
So how can she be missed?

photographs of past lives stare out from the wall
vacant moments, smiles long past
an arm around an old friend, dead years back,
picture of a saint who holds my heart in her eyes
black and white family group of three, I never met
drawings my young niece has sent in the post
and pictures of just about eclectic as can be
all break up the orange and lemon painted walls
the ones I painted five years ago, five years
these walls have held back the world from entering
kept me safe from the winter storms, and will do so again.

Not with a blade
Nor with blood on my hands
But with wisdom
And compassion
May I be tyranny’s end

With poetry and prose
With the ink and the rose
With an inkling to know
Just and unjust
Right from wrong
May I be tyranny’s end

With love
Not a bullet
No bombs to blow through it
No glass shattered or metal disfigured
This is what I figured
May a revolution of words
Be tyranny’s end
