Your cover is hard, your spine is broken
and all of your pages are torn
Your corners are folded, your text is stained
but my heart felt as if there was more

I stood on my toes and reached for you,
struggling to extend to the highest shelf
The tips of my fingers grazed your grey board binding,
the excess paper and rags created to embody your whole self

All you've known are the footsteps and whispers
of strangers who have passed you by
refusing to give your tattered leaves
a chance to peel open their sealed minds

In my possession you are beautiful,
full of wonder and infinite pleasure
I'll envelop myself in every one of your pages
like a pirate admires every piece of his treasure

all the flowers are concreted
moulded in a seed
the grass is growing
twirling round my dreams
the sky has come down for breakfast
but I have nothing to offer
so I offer nothing
and this is accepted
and the sky gets up and leaves.

Ribbons calling against the wind,
stronger than our fences.
   Ribbons crawling to our feet
speak of our potential--
   They break our defenses
Might be a love poem.

Your twilight moons
white irises, that flicker
within the nights confines
clasp at the velvet darkness
pulling the stars into orbit
obtaining galaxies of their own
feeding a universal luster
eclipsing at the sight of dawn

Oh, Lord, Give me Strength where I have none
Help me find my inner peace among the many conflicts that may arise.
Oh, Lord, show me the way
Help me be my beloved's guiding light in the face of darkness and turmoil.
Help me heal her broken heart.
Oh, Lord, help me accept what is to be.
And, if, I can no longer be my beloved's shinning light,
Then Oh, My Lord, I pray to thee, that, I may become a beam of hope for her to see.
Please, take my hand and help me guide my love into the light, where she should be.
Have mercy on us for we are in need.
My beloved is tired.
Her bones ache.
She is in agony.
She is in pain.
She needs to rest.
She needs to sleep.
Oh, Lord, I pray to thee, to cuddle my love till eternity.
No more suffering, no more pain.
Just let her be and go to thee
I ask and pray that her spirit may rest in peace with you forever more.

Poetry
Became the voice
Of things
that could never
be spoken

Poetry
Gave reason
To what is
unfathomable
and unimaginable

Poetry
Fueled the desire
to incorporate love
Into the world
of literature

Poetry
Told stories
Of thoughts
That only
speak of love

But
It is also because
of poetry
How she came
to understand
What is suffering
*and how sorrow feels like
