Parul
To, the love of my life.

Last night I sat outside in the corridor. The place where the two buildings met, where there was a cold wind blowing.
I shivered, but it was a good kind of shiver, you know? The one you would gladly take, because along with it came absolute peace. The knowledge that everyone was asleep, and you had the night to yourself.

The buildings with the lights still on looked like stars, and reminded me of pablo neruda's poetry, you know "tonight I can write the saddest lines"?.
But no sad lines would come to me tonight, I was at peace.
I could have cried and laughed and danced and there would have been no one to see, no one to hear. The phrase 'dance like nobody's watching' would have applied well, because nobody, was watching.

So why? When I was revelling in this silent night, did I think of you?
Why did I wish you were here.
Granted, I was happy on my own.
So why did I think you to hold me in your arms?
Why did I want to hear your voice?
Why did I want you to watch me dance?

Why did I want to break this godly silence?

I would rather be here with you.
Our stars light the sky
In the gathering dark of
A lonely city
Shout out to Molly for helping me on this one. If you haven't already, please check out her work, she is a wonderful poet! :)

You're not afraid of love,
You're afraid of heartbreak

You're afraid of being so high and then being brought so low...
Afraid of the idea that everything that goes up has to come back down, the nature of gravity doesnt allow otherwise...

But My Love,
In case you didn't already know,
Love defies nature...

Unknown
I love the cold
It chills me to the bone
It makes me feel whole
In this world unknown
Autumn fades away
Cold air drift in with the snow
Wood burns fire crackle.
Haiku.

i grew up being told things that made me feel like a diamond in a pile of gravel, but now i'm laying shattered on my bathroom floor and i didn't think diamonds were supposed to break.

                      He Lives Within

Within my heart there is a place,
Where love is always found.
The place is where my savior lives,
No matter where I am bound.
His name is Jesus and his face,
I someday yearn to see .
Jesus came for you, and me,
from sin to set us free.
Reach out for His loving hand,
and though your knees are weak,
He'll help you stand.
Look into His loving gaze,
He is with you through all your days.
And when He gently whispers your name,
You will never be the same.
This poem was written by my sister Cathy and appeared in the October 2015 , Sr. Perspective, River edition newspaper in the Poets Corner section. I am delighted that she let me share this with all my Hello Poetry friends.
I write with
the dull thud of fingers tapping
against my twin children
the fear of failure and
the fear of rejection
always learning not to care for anything
except for the sliding roll of words
against my tongue
so here I am

I write this as an act of passionate indifference
