I know that I don't matter to you
I know that I didn't really matter to you back then either
But back when I was actually on your mind
When I was under the impression that maybe you cared about me
I wonder if you ever wrote a poem for me?
I sure wrote many for you.
That's all I know.
I'd like to burn them with you now.
Along with all the memories and feelings.

Secrets spoken
Promises broken
Holding your breath
Hoping to forget
About empty frames
And severed chains
And leaving it all behind
Faces gray
That turned away
Paying for a mistake
You didn't mean to make
Drawing the curtain
Hiding your hurting
With the words *"I'm fine"

The concept of this is rather complicated
Yet entirely uncomplicated
Because during it all
As time went on
I began to realize something
That all theses times you were on my mind
It wasn't plural
Because I only thought of you once
And never stopped.

Stupidity tastes surprisingly like guilt.

Let's pretend we never split apart

Let's pretend my heart was never broken

Let's pretend that she never existed

Let's pretend it was just you and me

Let's pretend there were no secrets between us

Let's pretend you meant it when you said "I love you"

Let's pretend that you liked me for more than my body

The only way you and I could still be together is if we pretended everything before never happened
