the
smell
of the
barbecue grill
taunts
my hunger pains
I walk on by
uninvited
with no place
to
go.

you’re not mine anymore,
but sometimes i forget.
i still turn toward the sound
of your name like instinct,
like how birds are drawn north.

you were saturday mornings and saxophone solos,
the quiet buzz during swim meets,
the boy who held my words
like they were something sacred.

i still see your eyes
in coffee cups and the sun,
still hear your laugh
in the songs i swore
i’d stop listening to.

some loves don’t leave.
and missing you,
it’s a kind of music now.
not always loud.
just always playing.
She had these little cups
of coffee for eyes, and I
should have stayed up
all night.
Love is a drunk *****.
A lie from Saturn.
Venus, slither back in the
ocean where you belong.
Loneliness is a knife cutting
my ***** off.
Knowledge arrived with an
alarm clock from hell,
always the wrong *******
time. Slammed doors, words
of hatred.
What happens to the man that
inherits the wind?

Zero!

When I say nothing,
and you think of zero,
you’re partially wrong,
because it’s one of maths’ hero

Not all heroes,
have to be number one
In mathematics,
It’s all about the fun

Zero’s a kind number,
If you didn’t know.
Even if it’s added,
It lets you shine alone

But don’t make it angry,
As it may multiply.
It’ll remove your complete existence,
In the blink of an eye!

If you want its power,
It can’t guarantee you much.
But it can make you whole,
Stand straight and such.

Zeros got a major role
In defining limits,
Don’t underestimate this number,
It’s got endless potential in it!

Theres more to this number,
From what you might already know!
Now, is zero just a nothing?
That’s a big, fat no!
A quirky poem I wrote for the schools math e magazine!

Even "alone" has a "lone".
Playing with words~
I could admire a tree all day long.
Lay me down in arms of the sea.
I would marry all of nature
Carry you in my heart, like a melody,
all the time.
Reaching for your spirit
to stay close by.
At night I look at the darkness
to discover a glow.
The shimmer of a love so fine.
Setting me free…
like a fish in healthy waters
Or a bird in clear blue sky.
I realize that one can never have
or give a hundred percent
it’s not who we are.
But how I love mountains
and the beauty of the olive tree.
How I love Thee.

With spirit ablaze,
To tread, where everyone conspire
My truth, a flame held higher,
Yet branded still a liar.
This path, where doubts transpire,
To reach what hearts desire.
As in ages of old time's fire,
Worth on the pyre, a maiden's trial dire.
The heart's own fire, just water to the pyre,
Yet the world deems us of less significance,
Not much of a crier if you keep your distance,
We've never needed rescue, if the problem wasn't you.

the sky is wet like a mouth
the light extremely fragile
bellow people keep fighting, dancing, dying
a soothing sustance, this perfume fills my nails unassuming
the real & the imaginary fuse & diffuse each other

imagination keeps you real
by chance tears feed the earth
we need the continuity of gestures
the prelude of silence foretells the foxtrot of words
a dream clarifies the windows, solidifies the doors
like a tide of awe against the void
