i was looking at you
and thought what a dear
what a sweet baby
i really do care

i hope all is well
in baby doll land
your face so kind
and there you stand

so strong and straight
so brave and true
a gracious soul
i do love you

i adore your talk
we may never meet
but if we did
it would be so sweet

we would kiss a lot
and talk all the time
your little girl smiles
are sublime

no one knows
what will come to light
but one thing for sure
your soul shines bright

i feel your heart
it haunts me deep
better be careful
love is steep

You are the pounding beat in my heart that bruises my ribs
The flame that burns in every dream of my soul
The thirst of my tounge to slide and slither and taste every secret and sound of your lust
The anticipation of my trembling lips to die by the beauty and poison of knowing your kiss
I want to fall deeply into the bare skin of your soul and discover the true color of the truth that will unlock the light of your love
And if it is only in poems that I can dance under the endless blue ocean in the gaze of your eyes
May I drown there and stain every word on the page
And be folded and sealed and forever locked to the words
Where I feel to the fever
Of lunatics writing poetry
Of being impossibly
And madly
In love with you

I hope that one day
She will come to me when she is tired
Because rest
The pure rest of a resounding peace
Is something which I too desire
And can provide her with
To be like this.
Ordinary words in ordinary order
Slouch across the page unnoticed
Mundane metaphors and trite observations
Destroy catch phrases with every old saw
Memes are dragged behind overused hashtags
Until they morph into yesterday’s news
Dusty and bent and soiled on the edges
Same ole rehash of the same ole crap
Whitewashing the fence of involvement
The old wive’s tales are alternative facts
That dance to the tune of an illiterate piper
In a boring routine choreographed by
A sullen pre-teen who finds herself grounded.

Wherever you’re going,
You can’t get there from here.

Took 5th place honorary mention is a very small local poetry contest with 4 of the poems I posted here that got the most likes.  Depressing to say the least.  No point singing if no one likes your voice.

Speechless conversations often lead me to mental *******,
But verbal ******* goes deeper than any relation,
Please excuse my bluntness but the thought alone of straddling your mind makes me weak...
