Did you see a special child,
Moving on its own
Waiting for a smile from
strangers faces around!

Did you see a special child
Sitting in the park
Waiting for the ball to come so
He can give a pass!

Did you see a special child
Sitting near the lake
Waiting for the fish to be caught
In the fishing rod straight!

Did you see a special child
Moving it's wheel chair fast
To catch that metro rail
Which is about to depart!

Did you see a special child
In your child's class
Sitting in a corner waiting for acceptance and cheers!

Did you see a special child
In your neighbor's house
Waiting to be befriended
By the whole society!

Did you see that special child
Whose innocence is unbound
Smiles are genuine
And eyes are pure shine!

Unfortunately,
It's 'not' you alone who
did not see him..
We tend to not register
there presence,
We deny to register
there existence
I haven't seen a special child
till my 28th birthday.

Till I became a mother of one...
That day a mother was born
A special mom of a special child...!!!

Then I became friends with
Many such special mom's...
Beautiful kids became
my son's friends too...

And the special journey
of Special Life thus began!!!

sunprincess
Where in pastures sunflowers flourish and grow
And herds of cattle can be heard deep and low
Where once natives lived and hunted with pride
There's still a prairie stretching far and wide

Partly filled with suburbs by those in high places
hiding behind masks and fake smiles on faces
Upon this land our nearest star shines so bright
And this forever night has changed with light

And those natives once in possession of this land
Some fought bravely with tomahawk in hand
Many were slain like slaying wild beasts of field
Cause they love the land and wouldn't yield

Now all their survivors were quickly led faraway
Traveling for many a full moon and a sad day
As some became deathly ill, laid down and died
Snowflakes continued to fall as many cried

It's not for all
Only a select few
Born with a gift,
But devoted daily
To refining it, too

My writers, my poets
This Ode is for you
Who pound fists upon desks,
Crumble paper into *****
When our words feel askew

Our kryptonite, Achilles' heel
Writer's block--If our readers only knew
Ravaging our brain for hours,
Studying fellow authors' work
For inspiration--a breakthrough

"Ah! Now it flows"
Placing pen upon paper
"No, that's no good"
Tear it, rip it, shred it
To pieces

But don't give up,
Don't get too down on yourself
Though a perfectionist, grammar ****
Believe in your words--
Worthy of the Best Sellers' shelf

For my dear friends and fellow poets
Unaware of your words reach
Remember where you started,
But understand your power--
Touching lives of so many you many never meet

just in case
you’re in a dark place
and can’t seem
to find a light switch
or matches even
I want you to know
you are loved
maybe not by yourself
yet
but you are
even though it sounds
like a fairytale for now
at some point
you’ll find the light switch
or the matches
and you’ll be able to see
that the fairytale
came true
and you’re the one
that made it happen
Strange are the ways of love,
If one gets distressed,
The other is heartbroken.

sometimes i really wish i could disappear
though everyone says they would miss me
i really doubt it
i don't know
maybe they would
think of all the things they've ever done wrong
think of which one was the tipping point
when did they cross that line?
i can see it now
the candle light vigils
the peer speeches about how caring and loving i was
the fake tears a shocked conversations
"this didn't have to end the way it did"
"I wish we'd known, we would've helped in any way we could've"
but you do know
you can help
but oh i'm sorry i forgot
it's easier to pretend
than it is to care
