 Sep 2019 Serendipity
Tai Roberts
The night sky,
Is simply just,
A graveyard of stars.

Corpses of light,
That live on eternally,
Even after their death.

A universe away,
They call out,
Into a hopeless infinity.

Because there is no one left,
To hear their,
Silent and desolate screams.
He said-
Words cannot hurt you
And I tried to remember that
As they slid down my throat
Your name always tasted bitter on my tongue
It is a harmless
bloodbath under the moon,
when you stop moving.

Ripples on cheeks
deepen in the fog, that will
settle on red eyes.

Someone should
lift the burden of life from
the trembling hymns.
P.
I still talk about you
Like you hold the world in your hands

sapphire nights
spent with your body
pressed on mine,
hearts racing
stars aligning
moonlit promises
forgotten by dawn,
each bittersweet memory
a reminder
of what could have been.

aren't mountains
everything
close to the moon;
far from everyone
