Why do we always get high
When we're feeling low?

Why an emptiness within
with the summer wind
blowing away the dust

Why the mute tears
we weren't friends for years
but came together awhile

The earth doesn't pause to grieve
but in the heart of hearts
when a good friend leaves
the void for lifetime hurts.

there comes a point in time
when you have nothing
to give away
to the searching hands

wandering, dancing over
veins and joints
that are barely there.
they will ask for parts

forgotten, areas destroyed
and you will hand them
the rubble only for it
to be swept away.

there comes a point in time
your soul will hunger and thirst
for things you can
no longer feed it.

it will cry out for you
like a newborn baby
but you can only pass it
rice grains of promises

that fate will be kinder
to your already broken body.
you put your soul to rest,
and pray for sweeter dreams

you will lose your spine
and find vertebrae in letters,
bottled up and sailed off,
sent to long lost lovers.

your palms are empty,
reaching for bodies
sleeping in beds
that are no longer yours.

cold gasps settled into
the fine lines of song lyrics,
impossible to return
back down to your lungs.

you will have given
everything you have
to the universe, letting them go
into the expanse of space.

all you have left for yourself
is space rock and asteroid dust,
but for some reason,
you never ask for more.

you leave it up to hope
that gravity will pull
your fragments
all the way back to you.

Whenever I got serious, and told you that I just want us,

nothing else now matters and only you can flatter or shatter

everything that is mine.


You stayed like you are mine,

until no other guy gave you any sign

of interest

without another thought, you broke my trust,

it was unjust, felt like it was out of lust.


Was it all my fantasy, couldn’t you behave with a little decency?

When we started, when our hearts and sorrows parted,

you told me that you would never change,

that it would never get this strange,

or is it some kind of revenge?


It didn’t have to end like this,

3 years ago, being together was the only bliss,

and oh my! that kiss.


Can I say that I still love you,

One day, you will forget everything and say, Fantasist? Who?


Even then I will be within you somewhere,

my voice will faint and words will blare,

that’s when you will care.


My thoughts and words will blend,

but at that time, we will end.

Here I am, lying on the floor,

I just can't go on like this no more.

From my wounds I'm crippled and weak,

From my pain I start to weep.

I feel the blood draining out of me,

All I want is for the pain to leave.

Let me sleep and never wake,

Save me from my wretched fate.

I should've known all along,

That this battle can't be won.

I've never been a hero, I am only me,

And that was never good enough to be.

But this suffering I shall not keep,

When I close my eyes for the endless sleep.

i wrote a lot of great poetry when i was in love
i wrote even better poetry when i was in pain
i wrote the best poetry when i realized that the two emotions were actually the same.

When your parents abandon you...it hurts
When your lover abandons you...it hurtss
But when your friend abandons you..it hurtsss the most

There is a slim chance but still a chance that you'll recover from the first two shocks...the recovery from the third one though is extremely challenging.[virtually impossible in some cases.]
