(There are galaxies pinwheeling all around me and I can’t sleep.)

there is a malignance
festering within my bones.

night has hypnotized me numb.

it pulls Lake Michigan’s secrets in.

i stare at my cracked wrists.

there is mold in the crevices
of my mind.

i need stardust, to taste the burn of light.

the moon pulls blood from my heart,
shivers from my skin,
a sirens scream from my throat.

Vinyl Morrissey on the record player:
Window down,
Hair riffling in the breeze.
Guitar in hand,
strumming patterns guaranteed to relax my shoulders.
Crinkled papers line the floor
Covered in unused song lyrics
And scribbled what ifs about the girl you used to love.
For a second the sun hits your eyes and you look
Fragile.
Sensitive and vulnerable like myself.
Drops of rain shoot from the sky and kiss your window sill.
I slide my hand toward yours,
Stroke the outline of your fingertips
Until morning came,
and changed your eyes from blue
To gray.

I am suffering a sadness that weathers like a storm.
Only chills fill my release.
Smog, melt my mind,
Blast me away into the void of space.
Let me twinkle like a star,
Burning blue cool.

dont mind me
but i am waiting
waiting for you
to say
that i am
not the one
just the only one
for right now
but i know i wont be
because why pick
a dandelion
when there are roses
all around you
begging to be picked
so they can die
just to be admired by
someone like you.

I hope flowers grow in the darkest parts of you.
Daisies in your sadness,
Roses in your despair,
Carnations in you anguish,
Dandelions your anxiety,
And orchids in your depression
I hope flowers fill every hole where you have been hurt
So when you look at the wounds this cruel world has dealt you
You only see beauty
And if I'm lucky, they'll remind you of me

Flower born of human hand
Brings devastation to the land
Far and wide its petals spread
Painting our world the brightest red
As everything it touches
Dies within its clutches
Even mighty beasts are made to cower
When forth blooms man’s red flower
Inspired by the newest Jungle Book film
