She had a deep ocean for a mind...

And a gold chest for a heart...

Maybe that is why she was built of mahogany...

To withstand the lightning strikes of envious eyes...!
Just something short!
*Mahogany is often considered the wood of protection. Legend has it that it can even withstand lightning!
Thanks for reading this! ā£

Lesbian.

From being a young child,
It’s been a word you don’t utter in public.
It’s a taboo.
A word that defines you as different.

So when i figured out I liked girls

(and only girls)

I called myself anything but

that

word.

Gay, lesbean, wlw, girls who like girls

Anything but that ***** word that no one said.

But in actual fact, I am growing to love it.
The women of history using it as an act of rebellion,
To show their difference from the rest.

The L in LGBT+
That’s me.
happy lesbian visibility day!

What am I?
I do not know;
This thing inside
is beating, though.

I am most true
in poetry,
sides of me
which i never knew
comes alive
writes verses,
disappears.
Unaware me,
cannot identify
a soul to soul
melody
passes through words.
It is gold dust
touching the being
vanishing out the window,
through walls
and in the deep blue sky
.

Sara Teasdale
Her voice is like clear water
That drips upon a stone
In forests far and silent
Where Quiet plays alone.

Her thoughts are like the lotus
Abloom by sacred streams
Beneath the temple arches
Where Quiet sits and dreams.

Her kisses are the roses
That glow while dusk is deep
In Persian garden closes
Where Quiet falls asleep.
