I am floating
in an ocean of
Silence.

Words -
solitary waves
occasionally passing by

Caressing
my skinny mind
ever so gently,

I almost forget
I still
Exist.

when i crashed
into the forest floor
the canopy stretched high above me
i lit a match
i've been here before
but i can't tell reality from dream
some time has past
the earth grows quiet
i see your face ingrained in every tree
the ember burns
down to my callus
i want to watch it swallow you and me
why do i turn
my mind to fire
to mend my broken bones and restless brain
i want to burn
i want to blister
feel everything, and never feel again

instead i watch
the flame extinguish
surrender to the darkness with a prayer

instead i watch
the flame extinguish
the smell of sulfur permeates the air
I thought if I could swallow the stars
I’d be as beautiful as the evening sky
I tried one night    with fireflies
They burned my throat
Their legs striking at soft flesh
But my skin did not glow
No moon crawled from my eye sockets
I was left with corpses in my stomach
I soon learned I would only ever be
A cemetery

Poseidon mourns with the mumbling sea,
froths and foams and falters,
for everything I long to grieve.
Silver tears fall, the fruit of tree.
I grow her from the cut of me,
watch her take up roots and leave.
Wait, while she becomes all I thought I'd be
and steals the silence from my memory -
abandons peace for chase of ecstasy.

I joined the worshiped in their gentle garden
and trampled every orchid, bright and sweet
just to prove I could win such pardon,
live to die another week.
We were all of warm and wild
skin feverish to lonely sun god's touch.
My tongue took blood of grape so mild
I found myself -nothing- in the middle of much.

Lily pollens glow
rain of tears drops though it rained
petals glow
lily gleam and glow through it reverses time
night crickets chitter in joy
clock hand reverse twelve
midnight bell rings
willow leaves raddle like reindeer bells
pasture sound chitters and shallow
river flow down the stream fast
the wind made tree leaves raddle
so quick time stopped beneath my feet.
