Regrets

That movie I saw with my friend,
Not realizing that when she held my hand
that it was not because she was scared
And I hugged her and said my goodbyes
When we should have kissed
I can’t get that back

When I had that conversation with my professor
Asking if I wanted him as a mentor
My mind too dull then, to be truthful and say yes
Instead of freezing, and brushing it off
I can’t get that back

When I met the head of the English department
And she asked me what my favorite book was
And the shock erased the title from my mind
And I seemed like a fool when she asked someone else
I can’t get that back

And that last call from my aunt.
When I said “Love you”
But not with the emotion I should have gave
I can’t get that back

Pink Skies

I watched the sunrise yesterday
It happened completely by chance
I walked down the stairs to get food
And gave the front windows a glance

And the sky that day was so pretty
All colorful, pink, orange, and blue
It made me reach out to my grandma
So that she could go see it too

I used to search for the grand
Memories, an adventure to last
Something that I'll recall quickly
When I try to remember the past

But lately my worldview has switched
And it's not a terrible thing
Big moments are great, but I think the small
Is what makes life worth living

I'm thankful for moments between memories
The ones that will often surprise
I'm thankful for life, and to live it
For love, and a pretty pink sky

A girl and a boy
Higher than the moon
Talking all night in a neon room
Trading secrets, dropping disguises
The ****** tension between them rises
As his hand races up and down her thighs
She stares at him with big **** me eyes
They agreed on no strings or aftermath feelings
Just some fun *** without meaning
Grinding hips with moaning lips
Body sweat drips whilst they get their fix
Hair pulling, back scratching
They only share a kiss when they’re finishing
But the next day, she’ll leave
Putting it behind her after a few drinks
But he, he’ll put his pen to paper and think
About making her the next subject of his poetry

We're at a loose end, huddled into a tiny corner
We watch all that is around us and all the wheeling wonders of life and all these cycles of night and day and we think
what the hell are we doing?

We're all linguists in a continent with no languages.

We scrabble around we fight we rage
Trying to expand and grow and explore
but we are so limited!

So limited.

We burn too bright for this world alone.

A heart of gold stopped beating
Two shining eyes now at rest
God broke our hearts to prove
That he only takes the best
Seven years ago today, my Pop collapsed in his bedroom and was declared braindead. This is the poem my mum wrote for him. Pop, if you can see this, I love you. I miss you every day.

One friend persues the other
Cloaked in twisted fantasies
Oblivious to her discomfort
His ears unwilling to hear the word
                             "No"
Making comments unsolicited
Longing looks innappropriate

She doesn't want it.

Poem for Beth

There is a girl inside my head
Running round and round
In a pretty black dress
If I write about her, maybe she could rest
Here goes nothing, let’s put it to the test
—————————————————-
Her name is Beth, she’s a fragile mess
But she’s beautiful in every sense
She plays guitar and sings with her heart
Dedicates her entire life to art
She’s one of a kind, the prettiest star
The serious moonlight in the dark
—————————————————
If this poem is ****** than excuse me
I never really wanted you stop running really
There is two good David Bowie references in this cheesy poem
