Fade

.

I wish I could fade,
lay back,
close my eyes,

and fade...

through the continuum,
to a desolate place,
where peace reigns majesty,
and birds sing me awake,
as dawn paints the starry sky,
over a silver mountain lake,
clear as a mirror.

Stone monoliths rise to peak,
feet on moss and grass
make electric natural connection,
the smell of fresh air
and the scents of the flowers,
isolation tastes like honey,
sweet as a dream.

I wish I could fade,
lay back,
close my eyes,

and fade

never to return.

the tears are falling from more
than just my eyes.
they are falling from
my soul.

"That night when you kissed me,
I left a poem in your mouth,
and you can hear some of the lines
every time you breathe out."

-Yarn, Andrea Gibson
He was a quiet listener,
He would patiently hear everything that went in my head.
He would say,"Get it off your chest, breathe".
Move forward,
There are many sunrises yet to come,
Many dreams yet to be fulfilled,
Many oceans yet to be crossed.
There is more to you to be discovered.
Go,explore,
Find the reason and beauty behind you.

I think to myself...
That could have been
One of my children out there
How swiftly
Death can strike
Behind our backs
Beyond our sight

As I tuck my children in
I kiss there eye lids
To fill their dreams with love
Thankful for another evening
Generous is their hugs

As another day slips away
So heavily we hold on
With love as big as the universe
We dream into the dawn...
