tangible but not,
this was how I painted him
that I may see him everyday.
As realistic as I could,
soon I saw him stare back at me.
But then I realized:
even if his face was so close to mine,
his eyes were distant, a gaze so lost.
Even if my hands grazed over his,
our fingers wouldn't entwine, a touch so cold.
I was this close to having him by my side,
but he was still so far away.
You were realistic,
but you weren't real.
sometimes i feel a connection with paintings, as it is with those pictures of you, wjh.

please do not look at me
so the butterflies in my stomach stop fluttering so achingly
please do not laugh with me
so your boyish grin does not find its way to my twilight dreams
please do not speak to me
so your winsome words are not all i hear in the summer daze
please do not care for me
so i do not believe you'll be there when i need someone in the dark of night
but instead,
please walk away from me
so i will get used to how it feels when you leave
please ignore me
so i forget the beautiful mind of yours that enthrals me
please be truthful to me, show me you don't care
so i know i am of no significance among the people in your life
please, break my heart already
so i have a reason to believe you will never be mine

I explain my metaphors with metaphors
I don't know how else to express
My thoughts that sit in clutter drawers
And leave my mind a mess

If you don't understand my comparison
I'll just say it in a different way
My thoughts still shielded by a garrison
Suppressing things I need to say
She claimed to have a black heart which was devoid of any emotions. But she still had a heart even though it was dark.
Then you came along with your set of crayons. Tried to colour her in your favourite shade.
But since her heart was black there wasn't much that you could do. Still you were persistent and continued to colour her in a different hue.
As you scraped the crayon across her heart, you realised that some blood had started seeping through.
But you were so blinded by the joy of knowing that the inky colour could be removed that you stabbed her heart and left her body to turn blue.
