Tender life’s first cry
In a world so pure and new,
Hello, little one.

Curious minds play,
Running around the playground,
Reaching for the sky.

Reading books piled high,
Through learning they find their way,
As knowledge is found.

Late nights, coffee cups,
Graduating with honour,
Live, learn and begin.

Choices weave their paths,
With responsibilities,
As coin slips through hands.

A chance encounter,
Draws hearts that grow together,
I love you always.

Two hearts bound with rings,
Promises in whispered vows,
‘Til death do we part.

A mother is born,
A new baby greets this world,
They seize my whole heart.

The world keeps turning,
Children into adults grow
With aged threads of time.

Hold my weary hand,
My journey finds its end now,
Stars await my soul.

Grains of sand sift through
The hourglass of timeless flow
As we journey on.

I regret the choices
Made in blinding haste;
As consequences anchor
Onto dreams laid to waste.
Each lesson was a bitter taste,
That I refused to learn.

Opportunities were scattered
Like leaves from books in the wind,
While memories taunt me still
And this heartache deep within
Weighs as heavy as my sin,
That is far too much to bear.

If I could rewrite time,
I'd turn back the hands binding
Me to you and rewind.
I'd choose another path,
One kinder, more refined.
And trust me when I say

I'd make things right again.

From a spark, I am reborn,
My golden wings spread like a new dawn,
And fire courses through my veins,
As I become the righteous flames.

Soaring through the ancient skies,
Sacred flares trail as I fly,
Gliding through clouds above,
Glowing with the burning sun.

Years pass as I slowly grow old
And my feathers lose their amber glow.
My strength and fight begin to fade,
My soul is tired and unafraid.

When it is time for my final breath,
with all my strength I face my death.
In my element, the sparks ignite
The end has come to my long life.

Flames consume my flesh and bone,
As I embrace the fire that I become
As burning smoke rises higher,
And I succumb to my funerary pyre.

The fire fizzles and dissipates,
As the embers cool and accumulate,
And through the ashes sparks a flame,
The Phoenix reborn, rises again.

I wrote this poem about the cyclical life, death, and rebirth of the Phoenix - a mythological bird that regenerates from its own ashes.
Enjoy :)

You had that certain glow
When our eyes first met
Like stars that had learned to shine,
And within your adoring gaze
I found all I had sought
Sparkling like depths of gold.
Time slowed down just for us
As if fate had whispered
Because it wanted us to.
But, now I watch from afar
As emptiness clouds my heart,
Knowing that someone else will bathe
In what I once called my light.

Galileo looked
Up towards the ageing stars
Timeless in wisdom.

I was looking up at the stars thinking about all of the amazing things we have learnt over the centuries about the great and mesmerising cosmos - then this little gem came to me.
Enjoy :)

Over aeons, new galaxies bloom,
Spiralling splendours from a cosmic boom.
As time and space constantly entwine,
When the divine spans until the end of time.

Nebulae clouds form bodies anew,
From cosmic matter, in forces imbued.
As timeless planets in their orbits glide,
around a blazing star, their radiant guide.

Starlight shimmers in our sky
Crystalline flares from distant sunshine,
An ancient light on a celestial quest
Through the ever-expanding void of space.
