The End

No more poems, thank you;
I think that I'm done.
My notebook's half empty,
And apathy's won.

Please turn off the music;
My songs are all sung.
I think the night's over,
Although it's still young.

No more words, I beg you;
Just slice off my tongue!
They're just wasted air,
From a withering lung.

I've no more left to say;
Time to blot out the sun.
My notebook's half empty,
And apathy's won.
This space to be left blank

If you cannot be bothered to sift through the ****
You don't like, then there's no sympathy, not a bit,
That you get as you announce such pompous airs,
Declaring your work to be better than theirs,
When clearly it's not, and your criticism fails,
To amount to much more than an infants wails.
O maybe, just maybe, if I saw you had written,
Something worthwhile yourself then all would be forgiven,
Talent aside, if you'd chosen to write
Something constructive, instead of such trite,
Then the words that you said on deaf ears wouldn't fall,
But that's not the case so they're worth ****** all,
So next time you see someone's work you don't like,
Before you comment, here's a tip - learn to write.
It seems there are trolls in abundance even on this site. While not recieving any hateful or unconstructive comments myself, it appears some people are currently on a mission to post unhelpful derogatory comments about the site.
I realise I may be guilty of feeding the trolls here, but I thought I'd give everyone else a heads up, just in case.

I aspire not
to be the bright star
it would be too pervasive
and watched by the world entire-
I would no longer be
my own but an ornament
courting displeasure
and arousing discontentment.

How I prefer just to be
a blade of grass hidden
from common view
unknown and never be spoken
of-- just among my peers
welcoming every drop of the early dew
blessed by the rays of the sun
with each dawn I myself renew.

How sad and despondent is the world
joys, wonder and beauty are espoused by so few
the striving, the craving and the in-fighting
to the path of happiness too many have no clue-
where's the splendour of living and loving?
from doom and gloom do we know how to eschew?
do we choose to shut out the world from our desolate room
or to sing and dance beneath the sky benign and blue?
I am all about thoughts and words
Have been so all my life
Words ,being a recent find

A promise to my thoughts, I will word them all
To keep or break it , am yet to decide

The thoughts featherweight, upwards they fly
Words earth bound , gravity they can’t defy

The thoughts ,In silence they live
In words they die , To live another life
All about , Thoughts & Words :)

Souffle

Souffle.
That means breath in French.
And many other things that I can’t describe.
That means that I am in peace.
That means that I have the right to exist
Just because I, too, breathe.
I, too, am alive.
I, too, can speak for myself.
I belong to the living ones.
I inhale.
I exhale.
I breathe.
That long expiration,
As I close my eyes,
Is the only proof that I exist.
That’s why this word might be my favourite
Because thanks to it, I have the certainty of my existence.
That’s a short and soft word
With a deep meaning to it
And a deep meaning to me.

"You get to exhale now.
You get to be more you than you have been in a very long time."

"I might win.
I have my fast shoes on."
This poem illustrates just how easy it is to make a choice to do good and accomplish much from the perspective of a child.
