Determined
          to leave
she gathered
up her
things, keys
& a coat, a
quick note
    explaining
why she had
          to go,
but the
finality of the
scene gave
       the bleak
view a
different hue,
         the sun
through
glass shone
brighter, the
               sky
appeared
several
        shades
lighter, the
once
      silent
      meadows
called out in
       unison
to be walked
           upon,
the
    flowers
whispered
   to her to
        hold on.

Daddy's leaving
Mommy says we're better off without him
He can't hurt us anymore
I owe it all to you mom

5 years old
Getting on the bus
Excited to start school
Mom let me wear what I wanted
I made friends just being who I am
I owe it all to you mom

10 years old
Mom made me play softball
I didn't want to
I didn't know it would be my favorite sport
I owe it all to you mom

15 years old
Mom is really sick
Is she dying?
I better be strong, for her
I owe it all to you mom

17 years old
I got accepted to college
It's a private school
Only the best get in
I owe it all to you mom

Everything that I am
And everything that I will be
I know I'll be
a strong, smart, and successful woman and...
I owe it all to you mom

Renegade crows
swagger ashore
lifting unlucky tritons
high into the whirling
wind, dropping them
to the rocks below

shell is rendered
to fine dust
revealing the mollusk
vainly hiding
in the fissured whorl
of what was once

Home

now a splintered chamber
with no exit
from which to squeeze
into the minute space
between falling
and breaking clean open.
The breath of the world invites the 'Dance of the Trees'
Magnolias do-si-do with Silver Maples , Red Woodpeckers-
sway as Mayflies and Field Crickets square dance 'neath the Elm's ..
Brown-eyed Susan's perform ballet in the fragrant Georgia breezes
Young Bunnies whirl away the hours , Big Bullfrogs cha-cha
croak and warble , Hummingbirds boogie among the midday flowers
Lady blue skies and vibrant greens , Crows dance 'The Charleston'
beneath the Pin Oak Trees ..

Evolution is like a rubber band ball
starting small and simple,
but slowly expanding,
changing while keeping
each piece that came before.

The Dedpoet
She went down the pathway
Of the quarter moon,
Its sorrow bleeding with gilded
Protection from a star's hopeful
Glance, she bled darkness
From a deep pain
And her lips like ruby petals
Sang her lamemt:

   As the grey day bloomed
   And my dreams grieved,
   I saw your eyes retracing
   Every desire I conceived.

   I heard the footsteps
For and ending to my sorrows,
   Such a fool,
I thought you'd stay past tomorrow.

   I put out the lanterns
   Searching for my heart's grace,
But now that you have slithered,
   Its gone away.

    Love's virtue dead
Hung on a thread of tears,
    I bleed out my soul
    And built walls of fear.

    The delicate red of crimson
    Fire burnt me whole,
    There was once a woman,
But scarlet pain eats the soul.
