Boarded Shatter
Daria Jun 2017
Do we have an unspoken deal?
One that doesn't allow us to love,
One that magically is going to help us heal?

You're dark souled, but gentle hearted
My vivid spirit, but empty feelings.
Broken, shattered glass since it started.

Our old souls can't feel anymore,
Glimmers of hope shine only occasionally,
Only to be shut out by a boarded up door.

Psychedelic Sunshine
Daria Jun 2017
Mom had an exceptional case of Beatle mania, there was no changing that.
Dad was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, for most people would say.
He's still on his life's mission to figure out Heaven from Hell.
She will forever be lost in strawberry fields, but she's not the only one.

Instead of being torn in two mismatched genres of life, I bathed in its irony.
A mere child, with powerful words being sung to me from stories I didn't yet grasp.
Across many dark sides, and many new suns I was taught right from wrong.
Two different perspectives, creating one unalterable, unexpected song.

Childhood Comfort
Daria May 2017
I long to recall the embraces of my childhood,
Imaginary friends comforting me as only I wished real friends would.
Speeding down the path of distant memories,
Collecting the thoughts everyone passed down to me.
Street lights shined the way back home for us,
Oh, how I wished our magic was continuous.
Daria May 2017
How could those words possibly come out of your mouth?
Your happiness is one thing I do not deserve.
When I have yet to find my own.
The way to find it is lost.
I have yet to give up searching.
Stealing yours is not an idea I imagine.
Helpless, you would be left without it.
You will be empty.
You will be me.

Nothing is what I leave you with.
This is all I could offer at this time.
One day I will regain mine.
You, by then, will have sold yours.
Someone who had theirs all together.
Will come along, yet you are still without.
Without a smile, without a reason, without me.

Stop comparing me to everyone.
Only then you will find it, you will have won.
Until you surrender your battle with me.
You won't be allowed to claim victory.
Open your eyes, I'm begging your skies.
In the end, I was not your prize.

Your bitter escape.
Daria May 2017
You escaped our paradise to risk your own happiness,
I stood on that third floor, numbing my heart,
Covering her eyes to shield from your betrayal.

She felt your touch linger as your fingers slipped through,
I froze all the tears that persisted to fall from my eyes,
Disguising my ice rivers as the spring breeze.

Our Kingdom fell apart as you slammed the door,
Her love strong enough for walls not to collapse,
We stood there in silence as you desert true love.
These emotions are still as real as they were two years ago.
Daria May 2017
The joker loved and lost all too often in fact,
Could not keep her wild heart in tact.
Desperate to climb her way to the top,
Taking all the foolish hearts that tried to make her stop.
She chose her dark horses as her diversions,
Secretly repeating "Will this all be worth it?"
An abstract romance that's at the end of its lease,
Even the King would still crave hunger from the unfulfilling feast,
Hating all the blood shed she caused by her trick,
As soon as they get up again, she attacks with one swift kick.
Insanity runs throughout her skin, closing every door to never allow any one of them in.
