The stars gazed at you through a window framed by the moon,
jealous of the bright lit reflection that took the form of you.

She was a blonde, with eyes so blue they’d make you swear the oceans were within them. When she looked at me, I could see something fragile. Like a doll that was too pretty to be played with, one that screamed for the attention it wasn’t allowed to have.
And with a set of blue eyes and loving expression, she captured me. She drew me close with something unnatural, and I came into the conversation armed with the knowledge that I would inevitably fail. But I took a breath anyway and said with a crack in my voice, “Hello.”

I'm taking the day and everything it gives me, but I think there is something more. You'd be the one to know, but I don't see you around anymore. Where you're going, where you've been is another thing to see. But one thing is true,  you'll never be the one to tell me.

As she danced, I watched. She was more beautiful than I remembered. Her soul was bright and mine wasn't quite so, but that's what she did, made me believe I had things she never did.
