The heart can heal all.
That's why we fear
Opening it up
For a fickle other.
We can lose our
Best chance at
Self-defense.

I don't fear
The break,
So I send mine
On a plate.
Recipients are
Used to games.
I am, however,
Fiercely straight-forward,
With self-confidence
Coated in
Uncertainty. Vanity. Candy.
Recipients simply run from me.

This is why I focus on me,
Expired of all of my romances.
Thankful Universe gave us chances
To quickly flee the scene
Before the heart dances.
Lonesome creatures are courageous.

The sky like the palm of my hands
Is clear and faint
Holding stars and then slowly digesting them
Just like I do with magic pills.

i'm erasing myself from the narrative
I'm tearing myself apart from the pages

If I hadn't fallen in love
I would have not known
that stars could dance in the eyes
That the moon could whisk me away
That the sun could live in the heart
and warm it and fill it with light
That clouds could shower kisses
And rain could touch like a lover
That the scent of flowers
could linger through the night
That the winds could play love melodies
That sunrises could colour a blush
And sunsets stir romance
That dreams could glisten at dawn
like drops of dew

I would have not known the magic
that is love
If I hadn't fallen in love

With all my loves
I always tried to put them above
I had been so blessed
But, I failed all of their test
Now looking back
I have become so depressed
Because
I could not pick just one from all the rest
Just one best
Always, I was wanting to see the next beauty
undressed
Looking with these wondering eyes
Never wondering why
or should I say, asking why
The only word I knew was goodbye
Never looking directly into their eyes
I never lied
I sure cannot say it was because of to much pride
I think all I wanted was the moments of what they
could provide
I was never looking for a bride
I was always upfront again I never lied
I question the word I often used
"Tried"
If there was any feelings they were denied
Always needing the next best, something on the side
Never just satisfied
Always feeling dissatisfied
Two words that coincide
I did my best?
Now terrified
Justified
!!

.
You who would direct my dreams
to a salacious and lustful cause.
Infusing my thoughts
with the dark and twisted games you play.
You who would pull my strings
and throw me in to a puppets dance.
Being your marionette
I'm a toy for distraction, a novel pretty.
I know you; I feel you;
My phantom of romance.
.
You who prowls my nights with ***
to leave me cold, sad and unfulfilled.
Discarding my carcass
with the disdainful and pitying looks you give.
You who would chain me to you,
lock me up and throw the keys.
Being your prisoner
I'm a nightly diversion, a nocturnal visit.
I know you; I feel you;
My phantom of romance.
