working for basic needs
submerged in and out of poverty
so that  the wealthy can have
a luxuries life
I tried taking a trip
down memory lane
but it was closed
to thru traffic

So I called the department
of transportation
and they told me
it was all in my head

My mother
Made it harder for me
To find my identity
Because she shamed autonomy
Which is why
I struggled to separate
My opinions and behaviors
I didn’t know
If I liked and disliked things
Because she made me believe in such
Or if it truly was my decision

Autumn pours her vintage, red

and rippling, into casks

of rough-hewn oak;

smokey avenues damp

with the exquisite balsam

of the gleaning season.

A variation on a theme. :)

‘I was drinking in the surroundings: air so crisp you could snap it with your fingers and greens in every lush shade imaginable offset by autumnal flashes of red and yellow.‘
- Wendy Delsol, Stork
I try to help others,
because I have no idea
how to help myself

They say to destroy
the things destroying us,

But what do you do
when the thing destroying you
is yourself
it’s sad
when the
thing that
gave you
the best
memories
becomes a
memory

I tried to make a lamp into the sun.
It burns my eyes like the sun does,
But finds itself only half as gorgeous.
The real is too much for me to bear.
About trying to find meaning in poor poetry I write.
