I hope that one day
As you roam the hills
The way that you do,
May you stop to smell the sage.

It travels through you
Filling up your mind
With images of me,
And all the wars we used to wage.

I'll be smiling back at you
As our eyes reflect the light
So bright,
As the train tracks shine a golden glow beneath us.

I will disappear
As the smell becomes exhausted,
But your heart yearns
To keep on wanderin'

It's time for you to go
So you take just one last whiff
And then another,
We were never good at goodbyes anyway.
give me your pain
let me take it all
like the man i am
my filthy hands can feel the scars
behind your breast
the healed incisions of years before
i only want to give you everything i can
in exchange for your discomfort
i want to bear your heart’s burdens
you brace for the unknown
every time you feel alive
i pray to you my god every night
so that i may keep your heavenly embrace
and never feel the malice that’s left
your eyes show what’s unsaid
it’s only fair to bring you back from the dead

Echo
we drank raspberry liquor
we ate strawberry ice cream
and we danced in closed down bars
the night that i left you
yet when we kissed, my darling
your lips were like vanilla
and all i could think, all i could wonder
was how to chase winter in the summer night air
that time i kissed my crush and then felt like dying for the next 5 days
Dance on wind,
Elope with sky.
Breathe in mind,
Unfold, open
as the gulls fly.

Coastal breeze,
I close my eyes
Feel the cool on my face,
Untether, let it take me where it may
With a smile sprouting upon each gust.
Take life for an escalator
Go both through its ups
and downs
Ride it like on an elevator
Expect both smiles and
frowns.

Take life for a suspense
novel
you and I unaware what
the next day will hold
Meditate and muse, or
this book of life just
peruse
Pore over it to watch
life's mysteries unfold.

Take life for the open sea
But pray drown not
yourself in it
lest you lose sight of
God's shore
and thereby lose all
spiritual wit.

Take life for a candle
let its glow illumine
others too
and in each and every of
its flicker
Try finding a hint or clue

Each soul's life unique as
mazes of one's
thumbprint
And usually for many
life's quite an uphill battle
At times sweet as
molasses, at times bitter
as mint
and life's roller coaster
may shake you like a rattle.

Life tis like the rise and
fall of notes
Consoling to find people
in the same boats
Ah on life you can find a
zillion quotes.

Thus ponder over your
life and reflect
how good you've been
to it
and not just how it's
been treating you
Veer around the pit, and
keep your path lit
for darkness of the soul
is for you unfit.

Take it in its stride even if it's a bittersweet life
Downhill's a joy ride, uphill has to be strife
