People say that
Real men don’t cry
       Then why am crying?
   I never knew
    The true meaning
      Of a poem
     Until
      You
      Appeared

It doesn't cost you a thing

My dad always told me this growing up
A smile goes a long way

I'm sure you loved me,
In the basement of your heart,
Where I rot alone,
If you.
If you feel there someone more worthy than me.
Go on and find them.

If you feel.
If you feel I am not up to your standards.
Go on and find someone better.

But if you ever hurt don't send me a sad depressing letter.
Because I am not that care to know fellow.

If you feel
If you feel my effort to make you happy.
Just not effort.
Go on and find someone better.

But remember this.
Won't no tears be shed over you.
I'm just not that kind of guy.

Cause deep within my heart.
I am aware of my effort to please you.

Chaos
i tried to find
a song
a poem
a piece of art
something, anything
that felt like
or sounded like
you

i looked
and searched
asked
and wondered
yet no matter what
i tried
there was nothing
that came close

for you
my platonic soulmate
are one of a kind
a light in the dark
warm, soft
kind, loving
selfless
a best friend

i couldn't find anything
because
nothing
nothing is like you
i'm proud of you, everyday

The sweet words that once came from my mouth
Directed with someone else before everything went south
Now my heart is full of questions and reasonable doubt
I don't know which one is true or what I believe about

Now, I met someone new and he is definitely lovely
I can go everywhere and much more freely
I'm experiencing the same feeling before but much stronger
I hope this time my feelings will stay longer

In fairytales spun with threads of gold,
Fantasy weaves tales, but truth untold,
Dreams painted in hues of perfection,
Reality's absence, a cruel deception.

Characters clad in virtues so divine,
Yet life's complexities, they undermine,
For in the real world, shadows persist,
Fairytales evade truths that exist.

In castles tall, love's kiss breaks the spell,
But reality's truths, a harder sell,
In flawed hearts, love's journey is strife,
Fairytales deny the tumultuous life.

Happily ever after, a whimsical notion,
Life's challenges scorn such devotion,
For happiness waltzes with sorrow's song,
Fairytales mask the struggles lifelong.

So, I loathe the tales with happy endings,
Reality's narrative, it keeps transcending,
In life's tapestry, flaws are an art,
Fairytales, a facade, keeping us apart.
