Slightly warm mostly beige
This is what I wear today
Maybe stripes polka dots
Here I am at the spot

( chorus )
The laundromat's on fire
Even though the socks have no matches
Everyone's desire
Not to show off any patches

Mostly worn kinda frayed
The years are displayed
Think I found enough change
It's laundry day all the same

( chorus )
The laundromat's on fire
Even though the socks have no matches
Everyone's desire
Not to show off any patches
The joys of doing laundry. Original chorus circa 2014.

Flamingo '18
J Hanover Dec 2019
Statuesque
On aluminum ripples
Soon to take flight.

Lawns will awaken
The sentries waiting
For summers calling.

Before sunset
The sky is an ocean
Of pink and white.
Three Haikus about pink flamingos.

Eden '19 Haiku
J Hanover Dec 2019
Comes the day

At first I recoiled

Then I crawled on

Taking a bite

Sweet, yet bitter

Easy to fall

Oh the judgement

Casts me out again

Comes the day
A three Haiku offering about The Garden Of Eden.

How Dare You!'19
J Hanover Dec 2019
As they exploit the mentally ill
No remorse in their intent
All the fear they try to instill
Catastrophes to invent

( chorus )
How dare you!
Heard it before
How dare you!
Still a bore

No remorse in their intent
Motives seem unknown
Catastrophes to invent
Rarely is their evil shown

( chorus )
How dare you!
Heard it before
How dare you!
Still a bore

Defiant towards the dark

Shall stay free
Dedicated to those celebrating Hanukkah. May you be blessed and enjoy the holiday.

All the genocide, stains the star red
The psychotic, leading the ignorant and blind
Paradise ruined, by the stench of the dead

Not in the direction promised, they've led
Resistance, would put them in a bind
All the genocide, stains the star red

Towards misery and destruction they've sped
Delusions of grandeur in the arrogant mind
Paradise ruined, by the stench of the dead

Those who know better are filled with dread
As those who resist disappear in kind
All the genocide, stains the star red

The atrocities, never once what they said
As the insulated cheered them on and whined
Paradise ruined, by the stench of the dead

When the refugees see how the monsters have fled
Food and safety will be hard to find
All the genocide, stains the star red
Paradise ruined, by the stench of the dead.
Socialism is the worst plague inflicted on humanity ever. Not one free country on the planet is Socialist.

Lepidopteran '18
J Hanover Dec 2019
Fluttering against the seas of change
The waves are crashing
In brighter shades so adorned
Upon the winds so drafting

After crawling to the wreckage
Silken remains wither
No need to stay in these salad days
The winds so gently whisper

The wax shines brightly
Can sense the need to crawl
So begins the many lives
Until the end of summer, really had it all.
A butterfly's life in reverse

That psychopath became a saint
A martyr for a bloodstained cause
He died by firing squad
When my hero drew the shortest of straws.
Che Guevara was and will always be a murdering psychopath that was shot like a rabid animal. He tortured and killed men, women, children, and those he perceived as homosexuals. Communism is evil and creates such monsters. Burn in Hell Che.

Night Lily '19
J Hanover Dec 2019
Appearing nightly on a hard wood floor
Pacing, pacing, and pacing
Sometimes forgetting what sleep is for
My worrysome mind is racing

( chorus )
She bloomed like a lily at night
Then she faded by the morning light

Daydreaming after I sit down
Watching colors run
Then the heart ache comes around
Blinded by the morning sun

( chorus )
She bloomed like a lily at night
Then she faded by the morning light

( bridge )
A fertile soil where only weeds grow
When once their was a bouquet
The barren winter
Where stems will splinter
To the harsh light of day
Now I have nothing to show

( chorus )
She bloomed like a lily at night
Then she faded by the morning light
From the ***** Tonk collection some lyrics.

I crave the capsaicin of your kisses

A lavender tinted breeze

Allium Invasion’21
J Hanover May 2021
Shades of bitter and brittle
Frozen through
In deepening shades of blue
Where away from the powder you see very little
Then at once the melting of frustration
Getting ready for the allium invasion

The pale minty expanse
As blades are sprung
In what has begun
The rays and the petals slowly dance
Then comes the warming of inspiration
Getting ready for the allium invasion

The lavender and lilac beckons
As star stained skies spin
To the blossoming world we are in
Mornings first rays will reckon
Then the joyous of infestations
The dandelions are tourists watching the allium invasion

The cold flames shall fall
Upon once green lands
Soon to be choked by winter’s strong hands
Then we can fondly recall
How we long for the perennial celebration
Dreaming of the next allium invasion.
A distant cousin of the onion it looks like a purple dandelion on steroids.

April still reigns

In frost bitten dreaming

Of the sleeping

Summer's fleeting

Before the advancing

Silence of fall

To lay waste

Crawling back to the silken

Dreaming chambers

Blue, and frigid

Melting slowly away

April shall reign.
A Haiku suite based on a theme of celebrating spring.

Going on an adventure with you
Not sure what we will find
Picturesque postcard views
An open road for an open mind

Not sure what we will find
Plains, mountains, or the beach
An open road for an open mind
Nothing is out of reach

Hoping to unwind
I know that soon I will be alright

Socialism '19 ( Haiku )
J Hanover Dec 2019
Crack pipe blues

Socialism still fails

Every time.
Socialism is the absolute worst evil ever inflicted on the Earth. Soviet 1917-1989, Nationalized 1932-1945, currently in Venezuela. The body count is way too high. Communism less subtle just as ******.

The real virus

These hypocrites reign

So unwelcome...

Did you wash

Your breaking soul

With the silence?

The real virus

Will always excite

The hypocrites...
Tired of the Communist virus 2020. Thankful I do not live in Michigan or Virginia. I feel sorry for those that do.

Paradise '20
J Hanover Jan 2020
How I wish more would awaken
To see the horror
Some will excuse
To avoid the hard truth
Of what's in store
When the sheep are mistaken

( chorus )
All the genocide, stains the star red
Paradise ruined, by the stench of the dead

Fancy colors or traditional brown
Black shirts accepted as well
Horrible the cost
When freedoms are lost
Your land is a living Hell
Only suffering and misery will be found

( chorus )
All the genocide, stains the star red
Paradise ruined, by the stench of the dead
Socialism is the fundamental evil that destroys all that it touches. Whether it is Soviet, Nationalized, Chavisto or any garbage wrapping in buzz words. WTFU!
J Hanover Jan 2020
Dressed in black
Such courage they lack
Such a disgrace
Cover your face
Not worthy of protection
Sad, your levels of projection

( chorus )
ANTIFA are the real Fascists!

Waving the flag
Can be such a drag
Especially one of oppression
You're desperate for attention
To their own standards they can't adhere
Wanna see Fascists, hold up your own **** mirror

( chorus )
ANTIFA are the real Fascists!
ANTIFA by their own actions and apparel are the true Fascists.
J Hanover Jan 2020
Somber, solemn, maybe suffering
Slightly
Seeking answers to how I can tread
Lightly
Through this darkened time of mourning
How you left  with little warning

( chorus )
Orchids reaching

Towards the weeping skies

Back to the Earth

Pastel, muted, maybe tonal
Flowers
Dominate the room in which we spend the
Hours
Wondering if it will ever be of ease
To see you laying there resting in peace

( chorus )
Orchids reaching

Towards the weeping skies

Back to the Earth
Experimenting with form, and with format.

Within the darkening of the shade
From where there used to be ambient rays
All shall in time so fade
Losing the path we followed in the days
Within the darkening of the heart
From where there used to be such peace
All others shall in time part
Losing the ability to be at ease
Within the darkening of the eyes
From where we saw the signs
All will come to compromise
losing the importance of a boundaries lines
Within the darkening of my embrace
From where I held you tight
All the questions on your face
Losing myself, as I make things right...
Many have seen where I once was
Not many dare to tread
They give their heart
As words soon part
They fall out of strange beds
Confusing love, with lust
Seeking a love that glows in the dark...
Few have found what I now treasure
Not many have the patience
They easily trust
How easy they corrupt
Putting up a defense
Unable to find, such pleasure
Seeking a love that glows in the dark
Originally penned circa 2006. Updated with new form 2021.
