Don’t fall asleep
Tonight

Don't miss
The meteor showers

Stay awake
We’ll see what
We've been
Missing,
Across the universe,
Stay awake tonight
The world is broken
No one wants to hear
A good story
They  would rather
Hear the saddest one

The world is broken
When it is easier
To hate than to love
When it is easier
To hide behind a bottle
Letters, labels, dollars,
likes or a flag

The world is broken
No one is free
Our children are not the future
They’re crippled cancer
A dismantled dancer
Given no answer when asked
Will I eventually walk again
They breathe a shallow breath
Mumbling their kind of gospel
Feeling trapped
Hoping we catch on

The world is broken
A woman or a thing
Depending on who you ask
Her dignity dies , her diamonds
Ravished and ridiculed
As cheap left with nothing
But a press on smile
That crumbles in the dark

The world is broken
A man looses his pride
In poverty, body pressing
Against the pavement
Days spent slouched over
Into tomorrow
People say he’s broken
He’s a disgrace depends
On who you ask

The world is broken
We avoid clocks
We Want no reminders
Of time merciless venoms
We want no reminders that
We are all dying , not as slow
That we would like to believe
Tears flood the homes that houses us
And usually we cry a river
when there’s no one watching

The world is broken
Men and women aren’t
Even safe with their tears
Compassion is a thing of yesterday
But the Moon stays glorious

The world is broken
We mistaken fear for strength
Cowardice for courage
We’ll go to war with everyone
But ourselves,
The neighbor bleed
All over the tulips
While we worry about the garden

The world is broken
There’s a coldness in the air
And
Nobody knows of MIRRORS!
Everywhere you look in this world people are hurting. Socially, relationally, politically, domestically, emotionally, financially, physically...etc...etc. There are times we get lost in our own pain and compassion drains from the holes left in our hearts.
The princess
locked herself away
in the highest tower,
hoping a knight
in shining armor
would come to her
rescue.

                    - I DIDN'T REALIZE I COULD BE MY OWN KNIGHT

Snow laces
Blossoms so bright,
Coldest of winter mornings
I can see your morning
Light shines its light,
Hold its petal
And believe that
Love is real,
Love hurts
Love is kind
Love is never
Impossible
Love is light
Love is life
Love is always
Right

Poetry is the string
         looping through and
         weaving out
the needling pain

It knits a beautiful
         patchwork, coated with
         colorful patterns
our fingers trace

threads of our lives
         create designs
a shining::
shimmering::
or dulling
our emotions blend.
Now there were two of them
Separated between thousands
of read texts and timely
chats touched by sound
but not skin
Awake in the others sleeping
Sleeping in the others awake
Restless as they wait
Restless as they wait

Addicted, I joke of my obsession
Obsessed? I laugh at it’s truth
Live life, move on, go on
It will come around, I know
One day this building will fall on top of me
Crumbling me under the rocks
But I am addicted to whats inside
I cannot let it go
The smell, the taste, the feel
Most of all.. The adrenaline.
It hits and holds, like a drug better than any other
No need for pills or syringes.
No smoke or bowl to pack
Just a mental addiction for physical pleasure
I cannot stop, I cannot stop, I cannot let go
I cannot stop
