Breathing heavy
behind my eyes
you lie in wait
for my submission

Uncontainable
yet contained
Uncontrollable
yet subdued

for a moment

You are darkness
you are fury
you yearn for blood
to burst forth and ****

You're a monster
you're a thief
you're nothing like
I had dreamed
Everyone has a part of them that seems like it's actively setting them back. Everyone has a destroyer.

(Verse 1)
I look up at the sky and see
cascading majesty abundant
Feel so little, feel so small
so insignificant before it

My heart, stained black with
regrets that I ignore
My back stays turned
from shame You said you bore

(Chorus)
And yet, You reach down
to the tiny speck of dust that I am
and You wrap me in Your arms
and I'm overwhelmed

You bore all the sin
for the tiny speck of dust that I am
and You wrap me in Your arms
and I'm overwhelmed
A worship song in progress. Tiny specks of dust though we be, God draws near and seeks to dwell with us.
She looks in the mirror
At the age on her face
"I wonder what he thinks
of me this way?"

She considers her weight
and the pores on her skin
She thinks out loud
"I don't deserve him."

She picks apart
the woman he loves
Separating her worth
from all that she does

He looks in her eyes
and caresses her face
He sees it glowing with love
and full of grace

 The lines on her face
  he views with pride
  Recounting the victories
  each time they've been tried

The weight that she carries
 is that of a mom
 Nothing's too heavy
 She just marches on

These bodies will perish
 and mirrors offer no truth
True love abides
 beyond the corridors of youth

  No, she doesn't deserve me
  Perhaps God can see
  Conceivably, one day
I'll be as worthy as she
to the mother of my children. Happy Mother's Day!

Worlds shaking
Hearts breaking
Iniquity razing
our reality

The castle with
lonely halls
desperate calls
for holy hands

Frustration breaks
your stained glass
pieces of beauty
forever despised

As worlds shake
and hearts break
forgiveness rebuilds
the castle stands still

Invisible, yet
forever etched in
memory

I hear
the sound you made
like lonely wind

Swept away by
violent storms
twisted

A silence fell
that lonely wind
whispered

Your image invisible
my heart shattered
selfless

A dream erased
I couldn't
ever face you.
My first poem, kind of an attempt at abstracting things I relate to my past.

Grace

I believe I was found
by a mystery, unbound
that metal clang against
the blackness in my chest

chains so far removed
by hands holed and bruised
blood and water pour
drowning my yesterdays

the mystery of this
a transcendental bliss
it cannot be contained
and I dare not restrain

this dance in blood
and broken chains
A lyric about the grace of Jesus Christ and my response to it.
let me wish upon a star,
not to light up the entire universe,
just to cause a shimmer,
in someones pitch black life,
just to add a glow,
in a few tiny dreamy eyes,
just to give some warmth,
to any cold hapless soul,
just to cast a ray of hope,
to the seafaring men out there,
just to lighten an unexplored path,
to those in search of adventure,
just to reflect the hidden evils,
to those repenting souls,
just to brighten a few more lives,
before melting away to nothingness.......
amen.....

Zead
without the absence of law, what would be poetry end of thee
as the tongue is dead without its mind
and a perception is no more than an illusion without a beat
our us's and we's and feelings of these
as if we take not the time to realize that pleasure
is our cover up for weakness
validity, purpose, meaning, what's your reason?
rocks have no bottom, and we only know their boundaries by their surface
if by whiskey, you mean be syntactic ambiguity
