I know I've submitted to frailty.
I know I'm allowing where it takes me.

I'm heading to places
where my skin best fit.
I'm dreaming of places
where my bones don't grind to grit.

I know I've conceded to a state of mind.
I know I'm lost to a cause no one could find.

I'm hiking up hills and knolls
angled steep.
I'm drifting through waters
that run too deep.

I know I'm stuck to ideals - weathered and worn.
But I know I might be better...
in the morn.

Tennis - In the Morning I'll Be Better

"Though our bodies have betrayed us
In a million different ways
In the morning, I’ll be
Oh, better, better, yeah"
Marcus Belcher Sep 2016
I know it drives you crazy
But when I have a baby
It's the one thing
That keeps me from the lazy

I see you in your feeling
So just be who you be
Know the sensation
Learn how to be free

So please be familiar
With places and all the stones
You'll need the all the info
When you caught up in those zones

This is a celebration
You are who you are
Hittin' for under par
Lady you are a star
Song lyrics
beth eve Jul 2015
we emerge in the morning
  from our cotton cocoon.
misshapen and distant,
  spines upright too soon.
i peek out, hazy eyed -
  black spike corolla lashes
fossil-old mascara dried.
i speak out, lazy mouthed -
once bright expectations
  now damp, the fire doused.

we promise, hands tied, to eagerly phone,
until we escape - at last - to go be alone.

sad,
that's what i am,
right now,
in one in the
morning,
listening to
the smiths,
and i realize,
that i will stay
like this,
always.

my head hurts,
along with my heart,
and not even you,
can make the pain
disappear.
