If it were possible to hasten life
To blur the years, and daytime into night,
Regret would be our lonely widowed wife
Ourselves soldiers with nothing left to fight

Why then, is it common to demand love
To place stiff bars around the fair and pure
Encounter it only to let go of
You cannot push what is not yet secure

It is not a trapped bird to just observe
Its song is clear, the echo of a breath
It’s touch is something that we all deserve
For without love, life just waits for it’s death

Love is free it cannot be ours to choose
Let it be, love is our limitless muse

Two sailors navigate a turquoise sea
To stay afloat we made a brittle boat
The ship rides low: we’ve got buckets of glee.
It’s made from sails of laughter, planks of hope

The boldest storm can put away its thunder
Our rolling sails will last through coldest night
The stars will turn their icy orbs and wonder
How we manage to float along alright

But,

Green ocean waves themselves have turned cliche
And god, I keep on dreaming ‘bout that prow
My bottom-dwelling thoughts ruin the day
I want to wet my freezing feet somehow.

So,

I’ll sink the ship and dredge the empty sea
Because I'm so ******* thirsty.
I've been playing around with fixed forms. Also, I am miserable.

She dresses all in shades of reds and blues
She cries the world grey
Cold and dark, her heart is fire.
Her mood evolves every day.

The dimmed lights, shadows flow over soft silk skin
A gasp, white teeth are bared in happy grin
Bed sheets tangled mess, Slip to the dark floor
Eyes glow smouldering, lock through the dark. More.
Speed builds slowly, relaxed and unhurried.
Eyes widen, teeth bare, nails gouge deeply buried.
Hair tangled now, caught in hands, wound round.
Gasps, and low throaty whispers consume sound.
Iambic good times
