your whispers that tickles my ear

the word that every girl wants to hear

je t'aime

empty space between each f i n g e r

the air that floats between every strand of hair

dancing around your face

countless freckles

on boundless skin

we are shapes

and i just want to fit somewhere

beside you

My hand, the pen
Cannot conceive
Words that cause
The make believe
To spring to life
And take away
The dark which fights
Like hell to stay
And so my heart
Swells with sores
Poison seeps
Into my pores
I lie down
In my made bed
Distorted dreams
Inside my head

The library is a quiet, empty cave where voices echo like ghosts in a gymnasium.

Laughter.

You can feel the history here, both in the dusty tomes and the architectural nod to the Roman coliseum.

Strange visitors of which I am numbered as I stand here spouting poor poetry on my phone.

Enough.
You would have to have seen the Vancouver Public Library to fully understand this.

my mother taught me that life is short and
that i should take my opportunities and
that God wants us to create adventure
maps of our life

and i bet she would be so disappointed
seeing me spending my every breath
hiding behind my unending daydreams of
you

but i'll tell her that i'm fine and that i find joy in wasting my life hung up on you because all the adventure and all the riches and all the oceans that this world could offer will never match up to the thought of you

A whisper in your ear as loud as fireworks exploding,

A gleam of a smile that blinds,

Can you tell fantasy apart from reality?

Look up as the stars align,

The moon greets you good night,

Do you ever think about how the sky goes on forever?

When you care too much to care,

And search when he’s not there,

Do you love him?

First poem posted ever. Quite shy, so this was a brave move for me. Comments welcome. :)

Things are different on the open road
There's so much to watch out for
So much to worry about
But
If I'm supposed to be concentrating
Why can't I get my mind off of you?
You're all I think about
You occupy my head
I'm trying to learn
The rules of the road
And I can't even stay in my lane
Because your eyes
And your smile
Are enough to drive me crazy
