If your sky is grey
let me paint it blue,
if you need love
I’ll love you.

If your heart is broken
I’ll wrap you in my wings,
I’ll sing a sweet song
reassurance it will bring.

If you need a friend
I’m always there,
I’ll pick the stars
and place them in your hair.

When you feel alone
don’t be afraid to call,
for I’ll always catch you
if you stumble and fall.

If you’re sad and blue
just remember,
I’m your friend
I’ll always love you!
Many thorns beneath the throne!
Happy ones actually cry alone!

हँसते चेहरों के पीछे पीर बहुत है!
तख़्तो ताज के नीचे तीर बहुत है!
Sitting next to you
Feels like driving
On an easy path

Sitting in your shadow
Soothes my wounds
As an ******
Sedates life’s pains

I sit beside you
As you gather my
Responsibilities into
Your basket
And carry them for awhile

You help me understand
When to set blame aside
When to carry duty uphill
And when to let you grab
One of my hands
And pull me to your level

I sense a danger here
A bait as wispy and enchanting
As a fly fisherman's lure
so far to the left
so far to the right
no common ground
found in each
others insight

the political divide
becoming an even wider
chasm
violence erupting
society gripped
by a spasm

the center position
always ignored
neither party attempting
routes unexplored

melding together
a better choice
the path ahead
of one universal voice

so far to the left
so far to the right
no common ground
found in each
others insight
A couple of weeks ago, I watched a television documentary about the divide between left and right factions of American politics. My poem is based on the theme of differences on the respective sides.
