No rhyme at this time
Empty heart and empty mind
Can't love or opine
Humanities
underbelly.
A place
less visible.
Yet, true
nonetheless.
Why?
Why this seedy
aspect of
human nature?
Writhing influence
on the soul
of mankind.
Hidden
in the
shadows.
Pervasive.
Bubbling to
the fore.
Pushing the
envelope of
normalcy.
Generation
to the next.
Pushing the
envelope
of decency.
Dark primitive
impulse.
Control,
trying to
control.
Trying to
derail humanities
promising
future.
Acceptance of
this realm.
Dark stain
on humanities
soul!

Everyone says "your family is perfect"
Everyone thinks we get along.
Everyone hears us speaking words of care
Everyone sees us hugging.
But listen to my words, look a little closer.
Behind that closed door, you'll find out.

Behind that door.
Screams and tears and fits.

Behind that door.
Bangs and yells and thumps.

Behind that door.
Sighs and yells and slams.

Behind that door.
Hums and tears slide down.

Behind my door.
Sleepless nights and blades.
Behind my door.
Cuts and tears and blood.
Behind my door.
I break and fade away.

Behind the front door.
Fights when cracks make breaks.
People fading away.
People losing faith.

Behind our doors.
Overdose on Tylenol
Overdose on tears.
Losing voices. Red eyes.

"Your family is perfect"
"You guys have it all"
"You are such a great family"

We tear at each other's throats.
We scream till our voices break.
I cry cause can't feel pain anymore.
We tell till our lungs give way.
We fight until our legs give out.

That's behind our doors.

My family is kinda loud... And a pain... And we fight a lot.
I endure the pain
along this sad life journey
knowing you are there

They say love is wild
Wreckless and unforgiving
Graffiti tears from glassy eyes
Flickering florescent lies
But his words soothed
Like black coffee at midnight
i look up
and see a world
far greater than
the one i'm in,
billions of bright lights,
that call to me
and say that i'm not alone,
i rise up to them
as if gravity ceased to exist,
and i dance with them
and give glory to their creator,
this world is mine
though i am not of it,
these clusters of stars
and galaxies
bring me more joy
than the hell that
the world i belong to brings,
the celestial beings embrace me
and allow me to finally see
the beauty that's around me,
even if it's far away.
part two of my latest poem. enjoy!
