She's a hand grenade
With no pin
Ready to erupt

The flame that fuels me
Also turns me to ash

I feel a change in the air
Floating my way
Can't wait untill it's here
I must say

There's no longer a chill
In my bones
No more feeling ill
A new array of tones

My soul is soaring
Above the clouds
My heart is beating
Out aloud

No expression can express
My current emotion
For I'm dressed to impress
With my doors wide open

I miss the ink flowing
Freely from my pores
The harmonies which bellow
Transcending chords

I miss the meadows
Of pure emotions
The calling of my name
Over vibrant oceans

I miss the galleries
Of crystal reflections
The soul piercing
Tides of torn inception

I float
On the winds
Of time

Waiting

Eating ice cream
When your sad
To send yourself into shivers
Matching the ice cold quaking

Accentuating
Your breathing, tuning the beats

Your gazing smile
Sharp as the blade

We are the living instruments
In our vast universe
Our hearts are the beating drums

We are living music
With the pitter patter of our feet
Our souls are the composers

I didn't realise these demons existed

My eyes are getting sore.

Full of amazing poets
But it's 3:22 am.
I need my beauty sleep,
Drawn in "just another ten"

Ten what?
Ten minutes
Or ten poems?
When does it end?

I guess sometime
My brain will shutdown.
Hopefully I wake up in time
To see the daily poem crowned!

Why is it so hard,
To call out their name?
Ask just one question,
Would you join me on this train?

Let each other know
That dark tunnels will be met,
But let each understand
That hand in hand you'll be set.

Maybe this the reason
We're scared of the rough.
Maybe one season
I'll be man enough.

A leaky heart
With every beat
Hastens its own end

The echoes of whispers
Projecting through the chasms of my mind
Smiles and laughter plastered across my walls inside
Amongst all this commotion, loneliness is all you'll find

That moment of true realisation that you're all alone
When you scuttle through the crowds
In hope that your vital signs
Have not yet been shown

The aching fades as I steer the shadows
A beating heart oozing, drying away the flooded gaze of piercing eyes
My soul traverses toxic shallows
For lost silence is now my prize

I see children on the streets.
The looks on their faces, ever sweet.
Sometimes happy, sometimes sad,
Sometimes joyous and sometimes mad.
I can't wait for the day I'm a dad.

Running through each moment
Showing all their life, they own it.
Sometimes they'll get into the rough.
Though through each experience they'll learn when enough is enough.
I know the life of parent can surely be tough.

We need to let them live and let them explore.
Or they might never find their inner roar.
There is one thing I'll give my children from the very start,
And that is all the love from my heart.
Parenting is a special kind of art.

Fading* in the shadows
Is where I feel at home
Hidden from piercing gazes
Up and down my soul they roam

Drawing back the curtains
They feed on my heart
Tearing at my emotions
A worn sadistic art

Driven through a world
Etched in toxic blood
Altered through war and greed
D**rowning in green mud

I feel restless and empty
For the smiling faces around are plenty
But none of these faces send me
To the fields of feeling free

Trapped in a cage
Upon lifes grand stage
Only to rot away with age

Damaged and broken
My heart removed for a token
Never felt more awoken

They tear me apart with their masquerade
Deep into my mind they invade
Cutting it to pieces with a serenade
Then left like a stray dog I begin to fade
