What will they say of you in future times?
Were they duped by your duplicity
or did you fall on your double-edged sword?
Was the devil we knew any better than the unknown?

The future has a way of arriving early.
Are you ready now, for what it yet may bring?
Will you be knighted, or, benighted and beleaguered,
Fall fallow by the wayside of your ways?

Will the name of Cameron carry on,
Whatever else is lost or left behind?
Will David slay the apocolyptic giant of global warming,
yet terminate the service of National Health?

Was it wealth, or a poverty of emotional maturity
that led to such flotations and privatisations?
what sensations did you feel, did you reach referendum,
did you feel the earth move?

We never saw your manifesto made manifest.
We, the voters who voted not for you,
yet saw you rise, anticipate your fall.
Do promises count as any kind of plan?

And the future is arriving post-haste,
like a present waiting to be unwrapped.
Elections have a way of arriving early.
We are ready, with a big sharp X.

Mislead
Anthony Perry May 2014
This is how i have become, walking a path led by a dead man pointing to *****. A waking apocolyptic hypocrisy with an apathetic view and a systematic face, I fear that this life will be nothing less than a simplistic disgrace. I have no need for a preacher when im dead, my loved ones will be sad for a while but i would'nt want to see them misslead. My ideals are my own and my beliefs will always be unknown, this world is a glass factory and its only a matter of time before i see how far this pebble can be thrown. After this life everything about me will die but my mind will transcend and go someplace I cant quite comprehend, until that day i have to live a forced life, hiding in plain sight, taking revenge on those who have caused strife, until the day I reach the end of life, until the day i blink and see the darkness of light.

"who scribbled all night rocking and rolling over lofty
incantations which in the yellow morning were
stanzas of gibberish,"
            --Allen Ginsberg, "Howl"

I scream into the night
or perhaps I
howl, knowing nothing save
that I am, because I feel
which is, ignoring philosophies
of nothingness, enough for me

I am, scientist, poet, eater,
drinker, knower, lover
thinker
thinking
not knowing, but
believing

in laughter, a curse because
it is strong, sounds corrupt
as it curls away from my bitter tongue
like the smoke from a fire
that burned uncontrollably
through the night and in the morning
we awoke to the ash

consuming poison knowing
hoping that we may see
what our healthy, clear minds cannot
a world in which we comfortably
belong, can say “home”
and mean it wherever we stand

from your house at R’lyeh*, in
your tomb forever ensconceed
your laughter echoes and sours
the night which I call home
a gentle scorn upon my past
apocolyptic loves
destroying (or *******)
reason and care

the sober-now mind
completes the thoughts
of my past abstractions
calling me ever back
to the nights in which I was built

Twisted like vines
my mind wonders to other worlds
Post-apocolyptic society
No rules, No worries, No anxiety
Everyone does exactly what they please.

Along with my "crew"
we, the outcasts, rule.
WE are the untouchable.
WE are the untamable.
WE are the  unforgettable.

But oh! Who are you?
And why are you here?
You certainly are new to these parts my dear.

Now what shall we do?
Shall we lock you up?
You won't get out anytime soon.

Maybe, to spare you would be nice.
But WE remember your words,
and they were not at all kind.
Maybe you should think twice
before judging our so-called "sick" minds
that just happen to be twisted like vines.

Apocolyptic Prayer.
Nyk Oct 2017
I'll never forget your red knees.
Or the way you clutched that book.
You said today's world has you afraid.
You close your eyes screaming you can't look.
I look outside and I see quiet, I understand why you're scared.
You whisper to yourself a quiet prayer.
"There's only crazy people out there."
I grab your hand and look in your eyes, "there's no one there, on ones alive."

I would unite this world under a common goal that what matters is not how much you possess but how long you can stay on a cosmic scale. I would like us to focus on how long we can stay here and I believe that in order for us to achieve that we must work with our environment instead of against it.

I believe that if we balance our ecological footprint to nature's standards we would easily last more than 15 million years and maybe outlast the dinosaurs. Excluding big apocolyptic events that may or definitly will happen in the long term future. In the past hundred years we have made humongous technological progress and we are on the precipice of understanding the world around us. Imagine how far we would come in ten million years even if you include ups and downs regarding progress. Which is still just a dot on a cosmic scale. But at least it's a dot. With the way we currently handle things we wouldn't even get as close as a spec on a cosmic timeline. Considering that we would only have to balance out our ecological footprint to achieve this makes you wonder what would happen if we were able to not only balance out nature but also use the fundamentals of nature itself to progress the growth and evolution of the environment. To make it livier on this planet, to help nature become more self-sustaining or even create recoures through bio-engineering.
We would effectively be able to utilize the forces of nature to also work for our survival. Maybe contributing in amazing ways, like a more efficient magnetic field.

From the perspective of a timeline that stretches into millions of years of technological civilization other problems that must be tackled come into play. How do we protect ourselves against extreme solar outbursts from the sun? How would we survive an ice age? How would we survive an asteroid? To be able to actively think and tackle those problems would not only be amazing and scary but it would also mark our unity as a species. These problems can't be solved if we aren't united. Every individual, every child has a great inventive mind brimmed with idea's, dreams, love and ambition.

I want us to utilize all those talents, all those ideas and see how long we can last. I want us to stay for a very long time. I want to know that when other species look at our planet they are looking at our civilization as it was one billion year ago, when we were still bashing eachother's heads in with wooden clubs. I want them to realize that they are looking at the beginning of a civilization one billion years ago. And I want them to know that if they looked a little bit closer they would realize we are still there.

After those ten days I would step down and I would have wanted to create a world where no one would step up and take leadership. We would all be equal and united under this common goal.

Bridgette Jester Feb 2014
Late February rain pours out it's heart to me.
"Come dance," it screams; so loud and steadily.
I burn to let off steam, but I am locked inside this box.
Stuck with my 9 to 5 routine, of kicking jagged rocks.

Apocolyptic nightmares stir my soul, even while awake.
When the sky comes crashing downward fast,
what will I have done for the human race?

I begin to learn the meaning of complaicent.
And the taste is bitter with despare.
I hope one day the words expunged,
or breaks beyond repair.

America the Beautiful,
America the "Free",
What is this lie you've bottled up and sold?
Can you put a price tag on our dreams?
And  is it worth its' weight in gold?

I guess I am just a day late,
or one too many dollars short.
So I'll keep climbing, up and up.
To pay off, all that you extort.

I'm sure it has been said before
and there is no doubt that some have won.
You hear the same bland story;
tried and true...
While staring down the barrell of a gun.

So wax on, wax off
I'm certain that it's growing old.
Cause no matter which you polish it,
Our hearts will never fold.

pre-apocolyptic.
They'll make you feel inadequate
to make them seem invincible,
but feeling anything at all
would make me feel alive.

When
the time that never surfaces,
despairing any entrances from biblical Samaritans then
I wonder if it was the time to search out in old literature
meanings that could mean to me or give apocolyptic epiphany
and still
it's good to feel alive,

nine to five was never on
they always wanted more
and John was seldom
willing to accept
and now it's gone

should I
who've climbed the mountain
ascertain that it's a trap to lull
me into feelings of security and
believe that in their potency
my feelings of inadequacy
are justified,
then bury me for I have died.

Monday morning blue again
but good to feel a little pain
that also makes me feel
alive.

Bomb
Kelsey May 2019
Between us there's this ticking bomb
As my insides are set on fire
And I choke on all these words
The tension is so suffocating
I feel like Im being buried alive.
My world has turned apocolyptic
Each and everyday is a fight to survive
While you just stand there...
A glazed over gaze...
Unaware of what you have done...
Or maybe just oblivious by choice....
But I can feel the timer running out
And I swear to god
That if I become a casualty,
If I am caught in the blast zone
I'm taking you down with me.

end of the world
Tyler Mar 2023
the sun's phoenix
scorched across the morning sky.
the watchers were at play,
and there were the background fading ,the boundary
of the red burning blue sky.
asteroids like hell fire
rained easing stones
to cease Earth's mighty
pains.

We must renew; this resurrection.
An apocolyptic sufferage
we have in envision
praying to God we are
the false prophets whence we led astray from eternity.

For there she lay in deathly slumber,
wondering what could have been
and what she ought to do !
The survivors were like her savior,
and eased every of mark.
And once the moon's cool light
drove the flames away she thought
she'd blossom again.
