Autumn Bliss
The trap door opened
And out flooded the light
I looked down deep
At the out of sight.

Out spilled loud emotions
And painful thoughts
And noisy truths
And out of sorts

How long had it all been hiding down there?
Suppressed and damp without any air?

I didn't want to be given the key
But now I'm going to re find me.

Autumn Bliss
When the bomb dropped
I was at the epicentre
With my back turned
I didn't see it coming.

When the sky fell
I turned inside out
And became the earth
My heart bled everywhere.

But over the hill came an army
Carrying no weapons
Their palpable strength like a mirage
Their love blinding like laser beams.

They formed a force field
Lifted me up
Filled in the cracks
And carried me.

Indestructible strength
Unequivocal faith
Infinite power
My army of love.
I'd love to get feedback on this poem to see if my message was put across.

Glow

Autumn Bliss
What a difference a day makes
24 evolving hours
As the earth turns a new leaf
Beauty blossoms from our sours

We found an enchanted key
And put it in the lock
Turned it till the light burst out
And energy began to flock

We tuned back in the radio
To a frequency with a mark
No more long lost crackle
But a station with a spark

The flowers have started to bud
The clouds have started to go
The walls have started to melt
The light has started to glow

You made a poet fall in love with you
And expected her not to write sonnets about your eyes
Haikus about the way you kissed her in the moonlight
Expected the fire in her heart not to inspire couplets
You made a poet fall in love with you, and when you left
Expected her not to write pages about the ache in her chest
Write a soliloquy dedicated to her tears
Expected her not to feel every gut wrenching moment of the pen hitting paper like your words hit her in the most vulnerable places of her mind.
You made a poet fall in love with you, and you expected her to be silent.
That is no fault of hers.

Chemicals

What is this that I'm feeling?
Just a chemical reaction?
Dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin?
Is this all just a science?
Something that can be manufactured in a lab?

It can't be.
How can something that feels so real be so easily fabricated?

It's said that people fall out of love
For the same reasons they fell in love
All the things I love about you
May someday make me despise you

I fell in love with you,
first with your soul,
then with everything else,
because everything else
was a part of your soul,
the way your eyes sparkled,
the way you laughed and smiled,
the way you spoke what you felt in your heart,
the way you felt both joy and pain so deeply,
you showed me your faults,
you accepted mine,
you made sure I was okay,
you helped me when I wasn't,
you showed me things you were passionate about,
you made me laugh when I was sad,
you were honest,
you were real,
you were you.
All that you were,
all that you did,
was a part of your soul,
with which I fell in love.
