Grizzo
Burns holes
in the soul,

the soles
of my shoes

You know the pair

The black Chuck Taylor's
with red dirt on the toes
from our vacation last summer

It was when we walked around
your hometown

That's when
I realized
I hate you
Some people would be prettier
if they couldn't speak
Bad news, just a fake on the take.
Taking gear, smoking ****,
Almost black,never white.
Never right.
Just a fake man, an always on the take man,

Feeding the fire with poison,
Leaving no choices,
Angels with voices.
Mainlines with needles.
Collecting stars, from heaven sent,

Believing all his words were honestly meant.
Trapped,tripped, something slipped.
Her name was Dignity
Tangled tourniquets,

She don't wanna play, okay.
But she will cos he's her thrill.
He's blown her heart up, like a rubber balloon
Silver sliver spoon man.
It burst, it hurts.
***** *******.
Eyelid twitches.
Making messy moments,

Nothing more then memory fodder.
Shot her up the final time, she kissed the stars hello

Mosaic
You have cacti coming out of your eyes
Toothpicks in your teeth
Buzzards living in/on your feet
Content with eating the footsteps you follow
So you can't trace your way back home

Sia Jane
Eyes closed, I'm drawn
                     backwards.

I allow my
subconscious
to leak out pain
                & misfortune.

In my dreams,
I'm reminded of
the time
          you first walked
towards me, with
               eyes so wide.

Your perfume fed
oxygen particles
     lingering in the air
of the hotel lobby's
                 all night bar.

With each exhale,
                  a warm blow
of breath;
breathe in
&, let go
   trying to forget you.

A fading scent
remains,
one beyond
hotel spaces,
fresh coffee
& home baked bagels,
 as to my skin clung
    jasmine & rose petal.

Leaving you there,
on a Friday night, in
sheer disarray; knowing
then, that all good things
            inevitably end.

There of course
existed a way
of protecting
              my heart;
the death defying pull
that missing you drew.

So it follows -
a makeshift birds nest,
where ribs are
            the sticks
crisscrossing
&, my veins wrap
                     around
             as though to be
holding in place
a shaky structure
not built for this world.
