late at night
consciousness abates

the pen enters me
injecting black ink

becoming my blood
I spit black words

staining paper
with my soul

everything that is me
exposed to your eyes

I want you to know me
intuitively

so you never
have to

question me again

writing about you is like
arranging the alphabet,
looking for possible
typographical error
counting the syllables,
thinking of rhymes

i dont know if i’ll ever
equate words to
how perfect you are

We spend to many fractions


taking away or adding up the
                              meaning.

Times are incomplete,
          but we must always
divide every moment so that

everything adds up to the equal
                         breath that we aren't

in control.


But we are but numbers,

                in an equation of now.

I have paraphrased
my struggle on this page.
To find some meaning

I'm ready to forgive you
but forgetting is a harder fight

when I read what you wrote
I realized
I'm not the only one who feels this way
there are other people like me out there
I'm not alone
I was trapped in darkness
and you all became my light
so I'll treasure you
I'm afraid of losing more than I've already lost

It will be well
You will remember these days as history,
thankful, and grateful for your struggles
The blood spilled will have justice

You will look back to today
Thankful for creating a better Nigeria
You will look back to today
grateful you didn't give up

Do you love me silent?
Like I do love you!
Do you miss me yet?
Like I do miss you!

Who'll gimme confidence?
Like you gave me!
Who'll make me smile?
Like you made me!

I still cry for you
but wouldn't show you
my fallen tears,

My heart has broken
into small pieces
but I won't let you know
about this! Because-
