There's a galaxy
That swirls in my heart
From one end to the other
To back where you are

Firing off shooting stars
Inside nebula storms
From Venus to Mars
Straight out of this world

Around Saturn's rings
In case I miss anything
Deep in the heart
Of this, my galaxy
I feel for those on the side of the road
Holding the sign of despair in hand
Is this what it's come to where all they can do
Is find a corner with what little they have left

You know the ones, the ones who never look up
Ashamed of where life has placed them
In the grand scheme of things the water is deep
You can see that without even saying

Where was the helping hand from the beginning
The lifeboat in their sea of doubt
Did we not see them gasping while desperately treading
Where all we have now is a measly hand out

When it comes to what matters aren't we all in this together
In this game of win or lose no one draws
Keeping the cardboard handy always at ready
Because holding the sign could be me after all

One thing
on my mind
Our midnight
kiss
Perfect bliss.
We're the Saints of The Vapor
that's our God-given nature
the future's a formality
presenting providential fallacies

The past foreknew the present
followed it in its essence
surpassed it with its prescience
forestalled its current presence

See me now, catch me later
neither instance is less or greater
straight lines run instantaneously
altogether extemporaneously

Time is selfish
Time is fleeting
Time is all we're truly needing

We're the Saints of The Vapor
James 4:14
The way you hold his hand I
Look down at mine and I
              Know you could never
                       Hold my hand that way.

You chose to love him over me
Breaking my heart yet another time
Bleeding me out for another rhyme
But no, I'm just raging in jealousy.

We are so compatible
       You and
              I.

But again, again, and again;
You don't see how true I am for you,
How much I have dedicated myself for you,
All the sacrifice I make for you.

Perhaps love is, indeed, blind.
A moment of hope
Smothered away by love's pain
Twisted and broken

I raise the flag
To Ira Hayes
A fallen hero
And his last days
Ira Hayes was a native American Indian who served as a marine in WW II in the battle of Iwo Jima . He along with four marines and one sailor were caught in the iconic photograph of the raising of the American flag on Iwo Jima . Unfortunately after the war he could not forget the war and drank to excess in an attempt to forget . He was found one cold morning in a ditch frozen to death in 1955 in his native state of Arizona .
